Remarks
I chose to attend this college because this is an applied sciences college, which focuses more on the application and practical aspects rather than just relying on theoretical information. Another major factor would be the prime location, it is basically located at such a point from where you can have easy access to all the hotspots. The admission process comprised of an online and an offline phase, starting from online registrations and filling of your basic details, to the offline phase, where you are supposed to confirm your admission by submitting all the necessary documents and paying the fee. One reason why you should prefer this college over others is that it has a strong academic record, a faculty that has the experience of teaching in top colleges of DU, and a chance of getting your hands on the research lab since the faculty and the college itself is trying everyday to get on to the top.
Course Curriculum Overview
A three-year course in microbiology will brief you up on all the basic subjects like bacteriology, virology, cell biology, etc. Here, you need to really push yourself to get hands-on experience on all the types of equipment, since it is a fast-paced course. The student to faculty ratio is good, you have a teacher present every time to guide you. The teaching method is pretty basic, through the use of PowerPoint slides or books.
Placement Experience
The college was offering placements through the central placement cell, but in the last year, they have formed their own training and placement cell, which is working hard day-by-day to get a wide range of companies with good job openings and offers.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are very affordable, around 15k per year. There are scholarships for low-income families, no merit-based scholarships as such. Internships are available, most of them are unpaid. The placements for the students with a bachelor's degree in science could be minimum, but those in finance or BBA get good jobs.
Campus Life
The campus life was an 8/10. There are no hotspots around, but you have places like CP or NCR nearby. There is one annual fest named Karavan, which is good, with decent artists and DJs. The college library is very well maintained, with all sorts of books available, and a book issue system which is handy. Like every other college, it has all sorts of societies and extracurricular activities. Many of the students or the departments have started their own clubs or societies.
