Overall my experience has been good. The campus is green and has good infrastructure. Teaching learning orocess is good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is as as per AICTE guidelines. It is relevant. The subjects covered are relevant from the point of view of appearing for GATE. Theory evaluations are fair but Laboratory evaluations are often not accurate. Some course require us to do research and develop mini projects. We have to give a presentation for 2 credits based on industrial work of 2months. Final year includes project.
Placement Experience
We have a placement officer. And a training and placement celo that conducts workshops and trainings. Some companies that visited our Campus are TCS, infotech, OIL. Companies set a minimum elligible cgpa criteria 7.5-8, take a written assessment test, then the shortlisted candidates go though a personal interview. Our institution has taken steps to prepare us for placements but it has not proved to be sufficient.
College Events
Annual Technical fest: TechXetra. Not conducted for the past 2 years due to some mishap two years back. School students and students from other colleges take part. Musical bands and night shows held. Annual Science fest. Special competitions help for school students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure is feasible. A semester wise fees of 26,000 + additional charges for hostel. Food Engineering and some other departments charge lab charges. Students who take admission through SSS have to pay 3X the regular fees. The fees is less for SC/ST/OBC students and single girl child. Provides fees breakdown clearly. Transparent system.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship opted. But I have friends who have got the IshanUday scholarship. Research Scholars get scholarships.
Campus Life
In my class there are 5 girls and 55 boys. But the ration is good in other departments. We have students from across the world, not many from South India though. Labs are well equipped. Many opportunities for showing talent in extra curricular activities. IEEE cell, robotics cell, entrepreneurship cell in place. Intraschool and interschool debates. Good campus life. Eatwries available. Free cycles fot girl students. Green campus.
Alumni/Alumna
There are some networks but I personally do not have access to contacting any alumni. Most people in my hostel are from Sciences or Humanity. So no contact with Btech seniors.
Admission
Joined the course in July 2017 Got selected through JEE Mains Score. I stay in Tezpur and wanted to study in a college in my home town. CSE department of Tezpur University was good NAAC accreditation. Also received good ranking among the top universities of the country.
Faculty
Good and knowledgeable faculty. Student friendly. Approachable, eager to clear doubts. 20 faculties in our department. Research Scholars and Mtech students assist the teachers in conducting labs. Average age is 45 years. Heirarchyis Profeesors, Associate Profeesors and Assistant Profeesors. All of them hold phd degrees and many hold post docs. Promotion depends on years of experience and research work.
