Remarks

Overall The oxford college of Engg, Bangalore was very good college and the was management was not the best but it was good i can say with good quality of education, infrastructure hostel facility etc etc

Entrance Preview

KARNATAKA ENTRANCE PGCET, I Scored 42 MARKS out of 100 .The specialization which i opted computer networking engg was available in only few of the colleges during my study tenure. So i opted this college which was even having good lecturers and infrastructure.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As i opted for computer networking engg all the subjects which were there were related to networking .For example analog digital communication, Information security, wireless communication and soon.

Internships Opportunities

Actually college was good many companies came for B.E candidates but for M.tech there were no companies came and so no stipend was available as there no companies for internship.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement and job opportunities in the college are more for the B.E engg Candidates compared to the M.tech candidates. Hence there lot of opportunities available for B.E candidates. Companies like Mindtree, capgemini, Sun-feast, Hcl etc and the packages given were good for freshers as it was between 3 to 4 lakhs .

College Events

4

There were lot cultural events conducted in the college, yearly fest and middle semester fest were conducted by the students of separate department separately. I never was interested in participating in any of the fest, so i was always one among the audience during the fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was not that feasible i can say . As Govt seat fee was Rs 60, 000 per year in addition to that College fee was Rs 15, 000 per year which was too much according to me.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship schemes / loans were provided in the college and hence there comes no question of taking loan .The only thing that helped during my study of M.tech tenure is i took i bank loan where the college even co-operated for some kind of documents for taking the loan.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was good, there was very good library facility provided in the college, good garden was available within the college and the canteen was also very good with good food facility with less cost .Gender ratio was equal number of male and female i guess, as i didnt stay in hostel so no clue about the hostel parties, there were no race, religion, sexual orientation issues raised any time in college and in any discussion in college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

As i was not staying in college hostel and not even in the Pg . I was staying with my friends in 1BHK room and the food was also prepared by us in the room itself . And the rent of 1BHK was Rs 7000 /month that too 3 years back .

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni and there is no question on alumni network and the network with the senior students . So i think they should start alumni soon so that there would be more network connection which would help other candidates going ahead.

Exam Structure

3 Internals were there for one semester and exams after all the 3 internals for the semester. It was not that hectic as all the semester exams were after one month or one and half month.

Faculty

4

Faculty was very good of all subjects and specially HOD was very very good and was having very good knowledge on the subject as well as general topics. So overall all the faculty and HOD and principal was very good and supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.

Campus placement conditions have improved in IISc after the inception of campus placement cell. Average package is around I would say 25 lpa. Since most of the students go for higher studies from IISc hence, you will see the placement percentage to be low. Personality I am also going for higher studies.
