Remarks

Being a Pure Government College, the fees structure of this college is very low. So this college is ideal for the students who belong to Middle-class and Lower-Middle-Class family. Besides, the infrastructure of this college is quite decent including the faculty members that I like most. It is one of the cheapest colleges in Kolkata that provides Undergraduate Programme in Commerce.

Course Curriculum Overview

Since the college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta, it follows the recent updated semester wise course structure prescribed by the University. The faculties of the Commerce Dept. are excellent and very helpful especially the HOD Dr. Keshab Chandra Sinha and the Part-Time Prof. Chandrani Bhattacharjee.

Placement Experience

0.5

This is the most confusing part of this college. Some of the teachers claim that the college arranges placement opportunity for the students at the final year. They also claim that Various famous companies visit the college for placement purpose. I'm a final year student and my graduation is about to complete. But still now, I am hardly notified about any placement programme. In fact, I have not heard any placement programme conducted for the last batch.

College Events

2

The college arranges Seminar programs for the students in the Seminar hall. The unique part of the college is Communal harmony. The college is predominantly known as a Muslim college although a great amicable environment is found at the entire college campus. The college arranges Grand Holi Festival, Saraswati Puja, and Iftar party etc. The participation in these festivals are open to all.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of the college is quite good. The college arranges yearly sports competitions for the students. The college has a fully Air Conditioned Central Library, however the size of the library is not so large. There are few computers in the Library from where the students can generate electronic resources.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-> CSE is the main stream because under this, other courses like Cybersecurity can be learned as extra courses, while still learning things that are very important like DSA and DAA. -> Everything is taught slightly fast and students have to keep up everyday. Even one class missed will be heavy on studying. -> The mic quality in some classes are bad and should be improved. It's impossible to understand what the teachers says when using them. -> Usually term exams start one month after the start of a semester, with the Semester exam being held 3 months later.
