Remarks
The college secures high popularity throughout the country and it is considered one of the best colleges in Kolkata. The college has also a great pride. I have always aspired to pursue for commerce. The library is my favourite place.
Course Curriculum Overview
The academics culture of the college is very proficient. But the only drawback of the college is paucity of faculties in the commerce department. There are only 3 full time teachers and 1 part time teacher. Besides, the classes are not possible to be conducted regularly because the students are very reluctant to attend the classes. When the classes are there academics culture is extremely fine. The faculties are really very good, qualified and helpful. This is the best part of the department.
Placement Experience
The college offered placement in the year 2017 for the final time. After that, the college does not provide any placement opportunity for the students. Last time, there was various companies visited, India Today was one of them. This is the most disappointing topic of the college. The principal is very irresponsible.
College Events
The institute is very much friendly for the students. "Unity" is the primary word of the campus. Both the religions' students (Hindu and Muslim) live here peacefully. Yes, various cultural festivals are held in the college like Saraswati Puja, EID, Holi, Tagore's birthday etc. In the auspicious day of the Tagore's birth day, tree plantation programme is organized by the college. The college holds extracurricular activities in the form of recommending students to different colleges to participate inter college competitions. But it works utterly based on Nepotism by the Student's Union. The students who are only close to the union gets the chance of participating to those tournaments.
Fees and Financial Aid
No financial assistance is provided by the college. Only the Students can file scholarships provided by the Govt. of West Bengal.
Campus Life
The infrastructure that the college has incorporated is quality wise average. The sports facility provided by the college is very superior and up to the mark. The sports event of the college takes place at the Calcutta University ground every year and qualified candidates are also recommended to play national level sports. There are multiple wifi available in the college but not for the students. The wifis are only for the teachers and the staffs. The library of the college is quite satisfactory and comfortable. AC and Computer facility is available in the library. The size of the library is medium not very large.
