Remarks
The college allows the students to develop their character both (a) scholastically by providing them with various types of assignments, teaching patterns, library usage, teachers and (b) co - scholastically by providing them with various cultural functions such as dance, songs, dramas, and various sports activities. It nurtures the students to attend class giving a discipline to multitask and be good in both fields.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus was up to date and had contemporary and variant disciplines including film studies, gender studies, eco-criticism, psychology, history. We had an industrial visit to the sewage management system in Bangalore as a pary of our eco-criticism course. The facilities were well rounded in their knowledge and helped the students by providing texts and guidance whenever deemed necessary. One special mention would be a teacher: Renu Elizabeth Abraham.
Internships Opportunities
My course required me to do internship (non - paid) session where I had to intern in an NGO after my first year and in any company/institute of my choice after my second year. The college will provide the students with a recommendation letter and through that you can apply for an internship at an NGO/Institute of your choice. This gives the students a sense of the workplace and its behaviours so that they are not in complete shock when they get jobs right after college.
Placement Experience
There is a day where companies come to campus to advertise and students can select. These companies are mostly based in and around Bangalore and students have the opportunity to intern and work there if they meet the required qualifications.
College Events
Fests were organised throughout the academic calendar with dance competitions, face painting, singing, marathon, debates, national and international conferences being held, slam poetry competitions, treasure hunts, photography and videography competitions, flash mobs. They team organised and in some had individuals as participants. The CSA wing gave its members to go for camps and went outside the campus into the city to tutor school children who were getting behind their schedules.
Campus Life
The campus has a basketball court, badminton court, and a table tennis court. This was due to the smaller campus size of the Bannerghatta campus. The main Hosur campus and the Kengeri campus has football fields and multiple basketball courts. Wifi is available on the campus and works well with fast internet. The library is well maintained and contains texts of various disciplines. The computer labs are also well maintained. I cannot coment for the science labs as my course did not required me to access it but I believe it is well maintained as other facilities are also very well maintained.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is well maintained, clean and safe. The rooms share 3 beds, and the hostel functions on a first come first serve basis. The hostel fees are not included in the admission fees and the hostel fees do not include mess bill. There is wifi provided in the hostelThere are PGs around the college which provide rooms although much smaller than the hostel rooms.
