Remarks
The college staff was a mix of helpful people and the typical "sarkari" officials who did things at their leisure and spoke indifferently wiht the students. Overall, however good or bad the college may be, college life happens once and never comes back. And I made sure to make the most of it.
Entrance Preview
My college falls under Delhi University and everyone knows the soaring high cut-offs that touch beyond 100% to get through the university. Obviously, admission process to my college requires no filtration through entrance examinations and interviews.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is designed such that we have no electives. Yes you heard it right! All courses had equal weightage. However, there were 20 courses on core Physics, 2 courses on Mathematics, 1 for Technical Communication and 1 for Chemistry. The best part of the curriculum was that it touched every aspect of Physics. However, it could have been made a bit practical than theoretical in its approach.
Internships Opportunities
The college had no provisions for providing internships to student. Sad but true. Few marketing internships used to come up from small start-ups and obviously did not pay the students.
Placement Experience
As a former placement cell coordinator, I should be praising my college here. Yes the placements have improved drastically in the past two years but only the placement coordinators knew the struggle we had to go through while pitching in a company .
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expect fees in a government college to be low. As low as Rs.10000 per semester. This was for our course since we had lab equipments. Other courses managed in around 4-5000 per sem also.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarships or loans were offered. Toppers in three streams, Science,Commerce and Arts were given cash prize of about Rs.5000 at the end of the year on the Annual Day of the college.
Alumni/Alumna
Extremely poor alumni network. But with facebook and social network, alumni meets are not the sole hope to keep in touch. Seniors were quite helpful and made college life easy with their constant mentoring and suggestions.
Exam Structure
Labs were hectic, 3 hours a day, 4 times a week. Examinations came only towards the end of the semester so they weren't much of a burden.
