Remarks

IIM being autonomous institutions have increased the fees, being inconsiderate despite the covid situtation

Course Curriculum Overview

I can not really say about the course curriculum, because the classes have not started yet. Although, talking with my seniors, I have got to know that the course curriculum is at par with all other old IIMs. Infact Shillong also comes under old IIMs now.

Placement Experience

4

Average placement 2020 was around 18 LPA, also the median on the same line. According to the placement reports of previous year, We can see the increasing average of the placements. One location disadvantage is there, that is overcome by online interviews.

College Events

4

All the festivals, Holi, janmashtmi, Annual fest NIRVANA, independence day, leadership summits, various competitions organised by different clubs, golf cup, and many more regional festivals. Life at IIM Shillong is really very very happening after you join.

Fee Structure And Facilities

fees has been now increased to 11 lacks per annum, including hostel and mess. I find it really expensive but we get easy loans for IIM Shillong. We have SBI, CBI, PNB all in shillong dealing with the loan part, this time, it was done online, very conveniently.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I opted for education loan from SBI, WE had to submit certain documents online, it was an easy process, we can opt for load upto 40 lacks, that includes, exchange programme, travel and stay expense, laptop expense etc.

Campus Life

Can't really say about campus life, But gender ratio and diversity, I bet no IIM would have better than Shillong. we have greatest academic diversity in our college. Considering me, I am from Prosthetics and Orthotics background. At the time of selection itself, IIM Shillong gives a lot consideration to diversity.

Hostel Facilities

All the IIMs are residential campuses, It is compulsory to opt for the hostels. I have not yet moved there because of COVID situation. but all that we have discussed with our seniors suggests that the hostels are nice and cozy, in fact in the new campus which would start this year, we have centralized heating system in the hostel as well.

Alumni/Alumna

Can't say much but the seniors as far as we have interacted, are very very supportive and ready to help wherever needed

Admission

After appearing for CAT, you are shortlisted on the basis of your profile for the next round i.e. GD/PI. This time, because of different circumstances, we had online PI and no GD. IIM Shillong gives great weight-age to diversity, So if you are not GEM, IIM shillong is an easy convert.

Faculty

4

As of now, We have interacted online with the faculty, I found them really friendly, and ready to help. We had certain symposiums, where in We discussed about various industries, I found the faculty revered and full of diverse knowledge. I would know more only after the classes start offline.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I have taken is BA history Hons. The reason for this decision is to prepare for NET. The curriculum is very broad that it has provided new knowledge and preparations. The teachings should focus more on the subjects and not to go too much beyond it. The timing of examination is usually morning , and the difficulty level is 5 out of 10

Course Curriculum Overview:

In UCC, earlier my brother and sister also studied and i could not make in Anthony's and Edmund's, so I choose this college. The allocation of college is one the best I have seen so far. It is best for those who want to be something in life because the college is little bit far from the main town and the local near this college also not allow any consumption of alcohol, drug, weed etc in the village. They even not allowed to sell them. I like this college as it is. So I don't want to comment on the improvements. The timing odlf exams is similar with other colleges, 3 hours.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

I only started this year so I don't know how much fees in total I have to pay in a year, but i paid forst installment 7100 after getting admission, i think i will need to pay 7100 or more for every semester. If a student wants to go to the college gym, then they have to pay 1000 monthly for it. My batchmates taking BSC pays more, if I'm not mistaken he paid around 19,000 for first installment. I haven't really applied for scholarships yet since i only got admitted not long ago, and about the merit cum needed, i think if a students get a good grade then they do not need to pay their fees, I'm not really sure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For me now it's okay but we got many teachers for only one subject and not just 2-3 but 5 .soo it's kind of weird and feels very unnecessary . One of the major problem that we faced that our college was not sure whether to apply NEP20 or not . Because of that we were not sure of the syllabus. And in first semester I think main subject were not so main.
