Likes
- Student driven college, all the activities right from the placement to running hostel and mess, everything done was done by the batch only.
- Loved the campus location, mine was the old campus: Mayurbhanj Palace.
- The faculties are outstanding. Most of the help you equip yourself with the skills and knowledge required for the next phase of life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course designed is great, although at many a times, while in the course you feel the heat and pressure. But then that's kind of required and when you enter the corporate world you get to know why. And since you get to choose almost all the subjects in the second year, it also gives you the independence to carve your path. The classrooms are equipped with all the necessary technological tools required, but more than that, the way you get to interact with your faculties is outstanding. The difficulty level depends on faculties, but you can expect some pressure throughout the course, although the 1st year has the majority of it.
Internships Opportunities
The internship(Summer internship) which commences at the start of 2nd year, is a mandatory one, and ample companies come on the campus to provide opportunities to students. After you successfuly complete your internship, the company gives you a completion certificate that is required by the college. The inetrnship can be in the domain of any management profile, from Marketing, Ops, Strategy to Finanace
Placement Experience
The placement process if two fold, with first one commencing in the first year for summer internships. And after the first year you either get PPO or you go for the final placements. 98-99% of the batch gets places, with some of them opting out the placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since its one of the top institutes, you get the best financial help, in-terms of availaing loan. The fees is as per the standards of B-Schools. The emloyment opportunities are immense, with almost everyonegetting placed in decent companies
Campus Life
The campus life is one of the best you can experience. The location is really great, and the campus is totally student driven. All teh activities done on the campus is organised by students. You can find all the relevant resources and facilities present in the campus. The college has wide range of clubs and committees and most of the students are part of atleast 1 of them, and the activities go on throughout the year
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are great. Clean, structured to give you the necessary comfort, The mess food is decent, with proving 4 meals a day, to keep you running all day. Every student will be provided a space, so no issues on that front.
Admission
The entrance exam is CAT, with cut-off percentiles varying for different profiles. Then you have a WAT(Written ability test) and then a Personal Interview, the selection is tough. Once can find all the relevant information about the college and the entrance process easily on the internet, it is widely available.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was good, typically with 1 class being of 60 student. This helped us to interact way more with the faculties. And faculties too made the effort to inetract and know the students, with many of them even sharing meals with us in the student mess. The credentials of Faculties are great, and some of them even going beyond what their credentials show, and them helping the students in many other aspects of life. And one can be assured you will be equipped with all the relevant knowldege required for the life ahead.
Interview Experience
There is no GD as of now, but in place of GD, there is a WAT(written ability test), where the student has to express their thoughts on the given topic. Topic can range from anything and it tests your thought process, your knowledge etc. Then you ove to Interview round, and the combined marks of WAT, PI decides whether you get selected or not. I took help of coaching institute to prepare for the rounds.
