Entrance Preview

I took WBJEE exam in which I ranked 276. Apart from IIT Kgp, Jadavpur is the best university in West Bengal without a doubt and that rank was good enough for this branch(in 2012), but now u need to be within top 200 to get this course now. Jadavpur has some experienced and distinguished faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is not great, but not bad either, they are currently modifying it and it is getting better. They do teach c as the first programming course but languages like python are not still not being taught and there are still a lot of unnecessary subjects being taught there which are a waste of time for a computer engineer. They do have good labs though which may come in handy.

Internships Opportunities

Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Myntra, Goldman Sachs are some of the companies which offered internship. Stipend was in the range of 50-70k for two .

Placement Experience

Job placements and opportunities for Computer Engineering and IT are very good, comparable to any good institute in India but cannot say the same for other branches.

College Events

The biggest cultural event is Sanskriti and many bands and singers or distinguished guests and performers are present during that time. For freshers, there is a separate event for them each year where they participate in sports, games and other activities. There is also technical events that go on during Sanskriti where students from all over Kolkata come to participate in.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Per semester fee is only a small 1200 inr. So in 8 semester, one has to pay only 9600. Less than 10k.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of any such scholarship or loan facility offered by my university and to my knowledge there is no such facility. There might be some waving for those from unprivileged background.

Exam Structure

Each semester had 4 labs. So we had to attend to 4 labs which lasted for 3 hours each week. 2 mid-term exams each semester and one final exam. So, exams never left us with a hectic day. And everyone in Jadavpur is very chilled out. The campus will pour in a freshness in anyone.

Faculty

Faculties are mostly on the aged side. To be honest, some of the teachers are really boring. But one thing is that. They are always ready to help and are very friendly. I can't say about other branches but computer science branch lacks young energetic faculties.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

This college provides best jobs opportunity for every students buts for internships eligibility is from the 3 year and mainy focus on 4th year students to be part of the internships . Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
