Course Curriculum Overview
.Being one of the best college, there are options and opportunities you'll not get anywhere else. The exams seems too frequent, being semester system, but is fine, as the exams are not that tough enough that you'll not be able to ace that. So, chill. The lab work is fine. The teachers could be better, as they avoid taking elaborate laboratory classes, but if you're interested enough, they'll not refuse either. So depends on your interests, in a particular topic or course
Placement Experience
There are placements and jobs for particular courses. Some are really good, and few of my batchmates were placed in some amazing positions in some companies. But that is restricted to commerce, economics and few arts courses. Its rare to find relevant job after any science course. Internships are there, but not thourough college but independent applications through the applicant.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is much feasible compared to private colleges. Some independent scholarship options are also available but not enough. The fee structure, averagely, during my time as student was INR 14000 annually for tuition, and 50000 INR annually for hostel, including mess charges.
Campus Life
The annual festival, and festival of each department and each society (there were 19 departments and 36 societies then) make the semesters quite happening. The students are quite open minded, and little instances of racism.
Hostel Facilities
Sharing hostels in undergraduate courses, and single rooms in postgraduate. Strictly on merit basis. About 10% students get hostel facility, based on their marks in 12th. As most of the students studying are not native, they'll have to look for PG's and private rooms, which are easily available in the nearby regions.
Admission
The basic eligibility to apply was a minimum of 55% in 10th and in 12th like individually. If anyone has less percentage that that then the application form itself gets rejected. Then the criteria was percentage in 12th board. I score 88% and could get admission.
Faculty
Faculty is qualified, but not good enough. Most of the teachers we had were not able to teach the subject alloted to them. We had to study ourselves. Only few were good. But they were amazing. But there are shortcomings from administration, and infrastructure which limits teachers too.
