Arushi's Review On IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute Of Technology - [IITG], Guwahati

IIT JAM, with 180 rank and got IIT Guwahati in first cutoff. So, after discussed with my parents, teachers, I go for IIT-G only.

All the mathematics and Computer sciemce subjects along with technical communication, Real analysis, Complex analysis, Numerical analysis, logic, functional programming etc.

There was as such no internship done by none of my class students. But, yes ofcourse, many of our classmates, were selected for Phd and they got stipend of Rs. 18000 per month as JRF and Rs. 20,000 per month as SRF after completing credit course.

Placements are good and being a part of M.Sc. course got offer from most of the college universities, like MDU, Guwahati university etc. Also, some students got admission in Phd after clearing GATE/NET exam with very good score.

TECHNICIA and ALCHERINGA are the main technical fest and cultural fest respectively. In alcheringa, we enjoyed a lot. Many of the events are organized during the fest. The students from outside the campus take participate in the fest.

It is feasible. I think semester fees for M.Sc. course is feasible but for BTech it is too expensive.Per semester we have to pay Rs. 13000-14000 approx. for General category.

No, I didn't take any loan. Also, in my graduation time, I was being provided scholarship of Rs. 24000 one time. After that in post graduation, didn't recieve any scholarship.

My campus is very awesome. It is number 1 campus all over India. IIT Guwahati is famous for its campus only. A very big campus. View point was there, thorugh which everyone can see the beauty of whole campus.

Currently in contact with senior people. But, as of now, in two and a half years didn't went to any alumini meet. This is called a bad luck. But, are in touch with most of our colleagues on facebook and social networking sites, so not an issue.

Per semester, we have to give 4 times exams, 2 times, class tests, one mid semester exam and one time end semester exam. Ofcourse, exams leaves us very hectic, but good thing about the same is that, all the exams hardly take 1 week to complete.

All teachers are well qualified with more than 5 years of experience. All are very informative. They had treated us like their children. They are very awesome teachers.
