Remarks

The entire administration of the college is very careless. They don't seem to bother about the students at all. But they always put a bar on the attendence criteria. Each and every student need to have atleast 75% attendence in each subject. Otherwise penalty is imposed on them. Ironically classes are not conducted on a regular basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Well the curriculum is based on GATE exam. It is not industry specific. The entire academic curriculum of the most of the engineering colleges of India is rather outdated. It doesn't contain what is needed in the Industry sector. The syllabus is theoritical. It lacks practical knowledge.

Placement Experience

1

No companies have visited the college so far since it is a newly established college and the first batch is yet to be graduated.

College Events

0.5

Every year a fest is organized in the college. The name of the fest is "Resplandor "and its theme is "Reduce Reuse and Recycle. " It is a techno- cultural fest. Besides a sports festival is also being held namely "Intensity". In this fest many events are organized such as quiz, debate competition, coding contests, Crime scene investigation, treasure hunt. We enjoy a lot. DJ nights are also being organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes the fees structure is completely affordable. Since it is a state government college. It is funded by the Government of Assam. So fees are subsidized. We need to pay the fees anually once. We pay the entire tution fees along with hostel fees, library fees, electricity bill and supply water bill. Thus the fee is pretty much feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I didn't opt for any kind of scholarship. I belong to the general category. No scholarships are awarded to the general category students. Mainly the students who belong to category other than the general stand a chance to avail the scholarships.

Campus Life

3

There are total thirty students in my class. Out of the thirty students nine students are female and the rest twenty one students are male. There are no extra curricular activities being held. Only academics and nothing else. Lab facility is very very poor. The labs are not well equipped with modern technology. It lacks many facilities. In our first year we suffered a lot due to no proper lab facility at all. The teacher gave assignments in lieu of experiments which was supposed to be done in the lab itself. Only theoritical classes were taken and that too wasn't sufficient to meet the needs of the students. The teachers completed the syllabus superficially. The didn't explain the concepts in a proper manner. No regular classes were taken. The teachers are too much ignorant and careless. Important topics were ignored. Students are not properly guided.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Yes, I have opted for hostel. Since my house is away from my college I had to opt for hostel so that I dont have to travel daily. The hostel is inside the campus itself. It takes only 5 min to get to the classroom from hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful. They give their best to help the juniors whenever the juniors are in need. If we seek help from them then they help us.

Admission

There is an exam namely Combined Entrance Exam. It is conducted by Assam Science and Technology University. It is a university based in Guwahati, Assam. It is run by the state government of Assam. Every year the exam is being conducted by the same university to get into various state government engineering colleges of Assam. I have given the foresaid exam and got selected in it.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty of the college is average. They dont have enough experience actually. They are just freshly passed out post graduates having no prior knowledge of teaching. They lack the skill required to teach the students. They fail to take regular classes. They don't have in depth knowledge of the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum they will show you before admission is completely different what you will be getting. They will be covering things but not with a higher level. In a subject easy topics will be covered but when teacher find any topic difficult , it will not come in exam since everyone has to pass the exam. They can just follow the GATE exam curruculum and that would be enough for any students to outperform after engineering with real time lap teaching. There is semister exam only where you will have to give workshop and lab exam along with theory paper

Placement Experience:

Placements start from 7th semester (4th Year). Companies like Amazon, Legato, TCS, Synopsis, etc. visit for on campus placements. We have a very good placement ratio and average package. For CSE, the average package was 13 LPA and 92% students were placed. While for ECE, the average package was 8 LPA and 66% students were placed. I'm planning on gaining work experience for 2 years after my B.Tech and then pursue MS Or M.Tech from abroad.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
