Course Curriculum Overview

The overall course is up-to-date and followed standard education methods. If you attend regular classes you don't have to use other sources for the exam . And faculty suggest you some books for the study purpose

College gave tranning and placement cell where you can visit and apply for the internships in the company you want to apply. College provides list of internship opportunities from various sources to help you to make your resume better

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees is 27000 for general students sc and st students have to pay less compared to general students. From 2nd semester onwards there will be reduction of fess . College provides scholarship options. They help to get the internships. Over-all college is good With beautiful campus

Campus Life

My college experience is good. We enjoyed a lot in our fest . There are many activites held in the whole semister. There are some active clubs and they organise seminars sometime .our college have a large library with lakhs of Books

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are soo good . In a room 2 students staty. Everyone get personal lan port for use . The food which provides in the mess is not so tasty. The hostel fees is low . If you want to stay in rent it's also available

Admission

This college provides well education. For the admission process you can apply for the entrance exam conducted by the institute and also jee mains marks are considered . NE region students get beneficial

Faculty

All the facilities are highly qualified some of them are from IITs and some of them completed their studies from abroad. The relation of students and teachers are quite well. There are 2 exam in a semister and if you fail in a perticular subject you get compartmental exam option

Night Life

Night life is good if you are a hosteller. You can do fun activities in the hostel. There is a gym in the campus. And two canteen. If you don't want to stay hostel some PGs are also there ( for boys). And you get badminton court inside the hostel

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

I didn't apply for any other colleges .As my sister home was near and this institution is under central government guidance,I just prefer this college only . The admission process is very simple here , a student can join the institute through jee mains,citkee or all india engineering exams .
