Remarks

The college overall is a package with all the positives. Though the only negative remark i want to mention is that we have serious problem related to the college infrastructure. the number of rooms are limited, at times we are not able to find rooms for extra lectures. Also some of the rooms are very small and its hard for the whole class to accommodate.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is fine as in the 3 years course it covers varied subjects, though i personally feel that more practical activities, experiences should be added to it. the things are not that much hectic if well managed, but as everyone knows that BCOM hons in itself is a tough courses so one definitely need to work hard and keep the pace to excel.

Placement Experience

4

The college invites many companies for the college placements for the undergraduates, with decent packages. when it comes to internship, the college has its own placement cell which keep students updated about the internships. the job profiles are varied, both paid and unpaid. The stipend by the different companies range from 3 to 5k p.m. on an average. That is very much decent for college going students.

College Events

4.5

The college organizes a number of events which are evenly divided throughout the term. From time to time the college organizes different departmental fests which also invites inter-college participation which includes all the colleges of Delhi University, IIT Delhi, etc. also the college organizes its annual Diwali Mela- ZISTATVA which is a great event and cater a large crowds with a number of stalls of all kind. then the college also organizes its 3 day Annual Fest- REVERIE which is considered one of the best fest of Delhi University. also the college conducts departmental farewells, orientation program, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of Gargi College is very much feasible. The students who are not from that much well off economically can still take admission and get a quality education and later job in their hands. The admission form itself cost around RS 1500. The fee structure varies from course to course still is more or less the same . On an average the fee structure ranges between Rs 10000 to Rs 20000. In particular, for the Bcom Hons course the fee is Rs 12000 per annum, which makes it very much affordable for everyone.

Fees and Financial Aid

Personally i didn't avail any such facilities therefore i am not that well aware. but our college do provide some sort of scholarship for which one must qualify the scholarship exam. but most of the time people don't usually avail such facilities because the education at the college is very much affordable and one need not strive that hard to get the admission and then pay off their every penny in the form of fee or some other sort of expenses.

Campus Life

2.5

The college is a All Girls college. The environment of the college is very free and peaceful. One usually finds people from all over India and even foreign students it fills the college with all the different sort of vibes and its really great to know other people their culture, beliefs and their country or state. There is very much tolerance among the college people about other races, religions.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

As the college is located off campus there are no hostels, not even private hostels. but yes one can find a number of PGs around. the PGs rooms provide decent infrastructure which depends on the rent charged and the area in which it is located. The college is surrounded b with number of areas which provide PG facilities. The room sharing ranges from single sharing to four people sharing. Students usually stay at Siri fort road, Uday park, Greater Kailash, Lajpat Nagar, Green Park, etc. the rentals are quite high as compared to the North and South in campus areas due to all the posh areas nearby. One need to pay RS 15000- 20000 to get a good PG.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are quite helpful. They don't disappoint their juniors and help us in all the ways they can. Also they support the participation of juniors and never make them feel excluded or anything. Also when one joins some society, they are very much keen to impart the experience, knowledge and the work they have done for all these years being in the society. During volunteering also they train us in ways how to manage things on our own and give us desired exposure.

Admission

So I chose to pursue BCOM Hons, as the course has good future prospects for commerce students. One can go for BCOM Hons and then MBA as post graduation and will end with good packages at MNCs and Corporates at good positions. So i chose Gargi College over the others for many things that I found better than others- the college is ranked good on the list of best colleges of Delhi University, the admission process was merit based during the process the things were well managed, the college provides a soothing and calm environment away from the in campus chaos. Also the staff is very cooperative. So all in all the College defends itself well when it comes to choose this one over others.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is great indeed. The whole Commerce Department as a unit is very much dedicated and cooperative. Also the staff is very much concerned about the students and listens to students in matters in which they should have a say.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
