Remarks

The college has always maintained a good standard of education system and discipline. In the year of 2010-2013, the principal of the college was Mrs. Minoti Chaterjee who was in one word a dynamic personality and have maintained a proper discipline in the college throughout her period of service. Some, up and downs were definitely a part of the college as the administration is not co-operative at times. but otherwise, it is good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good. They keep the courses updated with the passing time. The students can expect to get updated version of the study material and books. The Exam schedule is generally between May and June. The structure of the examination is easy and updated. The exams are held in the college only.

Placement Experience

2

There are no placement facilities in the college. I do not think any of the DU colleges have placement system. But yes, for internships the students can show interest tot he professors and they can recommend internships related to their department. but, in the college cell there are no placements and internships held.

College Events

4.5

There are a lot of events that take place through out the year. There are several society festivals for each of the society. All the departments of the college have their individual festivals each each year. There are sports events and annual sports days is also celebrated. The is also one annual festival that is celebrated by the whole college and during this time all the societies take part in various competitions and inter college competitions are held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the college is quite feasible. It is a government college and does not have technical related subjects. Kamala Nehru college basically has arts subjects so that is one of the reasons for having feasible is this. Though there are chances that the fee may vary from department to department. But still, I think the fee structure is way better and feasible than any private college.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opted for any scholarships during my education in the college. I also did not had to opt for any education loans, as the fess structure was affordable for my father.

Campus Life

4

Well, Kamala Nehru College is a girls college so, cannot describe about the gender ratio and diversity. But, yes the extracurricular activities were there in the college. There are variety of societies that a student can join. Societies related to drama, classical vocal, western music, art and craft, journal, fashion, etc are available.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors were amazing and quite helpful. The no ragging policy is followed pretty well by each student and faculty member.

Admission

I get through the first cut-off list on the merit list. The admission process was quite smooth. The administration people were co-operative at the admission process. The process took just 1 day of filling the forms and submitting the required documents and fee on the same day.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is good. They are co-operative and listen to the students' doubts. They try to stay connected to each student of their class or department in case the student feel the need for anything they could help for. The faculty member are always available for the students, but that does not mean they can dedicate all their time, of course.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
