Remarks

Overall the Christ university is good for commerce students. I would definitely recommend future students to study in this university. Dress code is a important factor. Boys should wear a full sleeves shit and trousers and a tie and no slippers allowed. Girls should wear kurti. Entering inside the campus you need to show the college badge else you will be asked to get the badge and then you can enter.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is that you will be having internal exams which is mostly a viva or a internal tests which carries 20 marks and external exams carries 80%, internal exams also adds the attendance. If you have 85% attendance then you can get extra 5% added to overall scores. I would say it definitely helped me to groom myself. You need to explore the campus and interact with people to know more. If you want to just study it won't fetch a better results. You should be aware of cultural activities also as it will build your personality.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement in the college criteria is you must be having 60% overall to sit on a placement opportunity. And then you will be given the test to write and once you clear the test conducted by the companies you will have the next round of interview which is HR round they mostly test on your communication skills and your confidence level. The institute will provide basic guidelines as what needs to be done for sitting on a placement. Tentative percentage would be 60% of people getting placed and it definitely depends on the students. They should have all the criteria met.

College Events

4.5

Many events will be celebrated in the college, like the annual fest, sports cultural activities, ethnic day which is the best in the college. Many other colleges which are well reputed join the cultural events. Stress tests will also be a part of the event. Business cases to add on. Lot of opportunities give to students to build there personality. Dance, singing programs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is not expensive if you are a merit student and a localite. However for migrants yes it can be little expensive as they have to bear other charges like hostel fee, accommodation, food etc.So in 2010 when I took admission in this college the yearly fee was 30k excluding the book charges. Mode of payment can be by cash, DD, online payment. Yes the college provides complete transparency in the fee breakdown structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I did not opt for any scholarship or a education loan. The fees was not very high as I'm a merit student. At the time of 2010 the college was not having any scholarship opportunities for students, however now they should be giving the opportunities.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was totally beautiful and amazing, lot of amenities like foot ball ground, basketball ground, indoor games, lot of nature to it. Gender ration I guess it 60/40 men/women. There used to be lot of cultural events and many of the college used to participate and it was lot of fun. As much I know and aware of there was no sexual harrasment nor any gender discrimination in Christ university. Well decoram it has. Carrying cellphone inside the class and if caught the mobiles will be taken and not be given back until the semester ends.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No, I didnt opted for hostel as I live in Bangalore with my family. So I would say definitely do not stay a college provided hostels as it can be more expensive. It is a better idea if you stay separately in a PG or a sharing flat basis it would much work out better. Hostels are better for the women as safety issues.

Alumni/Alumna

Nope no complaints, senior students like in the movies senior harassing the juniors can't be seen in this university. People are very humble and friendly. If you try to do wrong things then you will be warned. Be good people will treat you good.

Admission

As in my 12th grade I studied commerce, so it was obvious to choose B.com as a course. So in my 12th grade I got 89% and I was looking forward to get into a good institute and also I did many research along with my friends as which college would be best to get into. Most of them and by my own research I came to a conclusion that I will study in Christ University as it is one of the best colleges for commerce students. The criteria was for a General Merit category at that time minimum of 88% and then the next criteria was an interview which was not a difficult task for me. So I graduated in the year 2013 and I must say Christ University is the one of the best colleges in Bangalore until now.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of my college most of them are extremely experienced having there expertise in there subjects. Few of them are not that much helpful but that can be covered anyways. There are more then 50+ lectures if one is not available there is always a substitute lecturer. Minimum qualification of the lecturer would be M.com and many of them are doctorates as well. The age part varies it can be above 30. The lectures are on white and black boards written and also understanding.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
