Remarks

College management is quite responsive; however, there were some minor issues with the management of the hostel related to hygiene and pest control in the hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The structure of the environment management course was research-driven. I developed good research expertise after this two-year course that I took up the career of an environmental researcher. Various activities involved in the curriculum such as industrial visits, group presentations helped in inculcating team spirit in me

Placement Experience

3.5

Related to the placement, the college helps the students with job opportunities as well as internship opportunities. Also, the alumni of the colleges are rigorously involved in helping the current students to get the best job opportunities.

College Events

4.5

Founders day, college fest, earth day, teacher's day, department anniversaries. These events are celebrated on a large scale. Apart from these events various other small and regional festivals are also celebrated to tribute cultural diversity. Our college truly respects each and every religion and it wholly secular in spirit.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes, the college provides transparency in the fee structure. Lady Irwin College is a government college like every other college under the University of Delhi. Therefore, the fee is subsidies for the student. For the masters course, the fee was 45k per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. I availed for a loan during my master's course. This wasn't provided through the college. I took the loan on my personal basis by contacting some Indian bank

Campus Life

4.5

Lady Irwin College is a girl's college; therefore the female percentage is 100% in the male: female ratio. There are a lot of extracurricular activities conducted for students throughout the year such as dance competition, fashion shows, acting face-off, and many others.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes. I lived in the hostel both in the undergraduate and graduate years of studies. The hostel has shared rooms. One room is usually shared by four people. The hostel provides cleaning and food facility. The average rental to be paid is the same for all the students, irrespective of the course. The rent for a single bed per year is 1.25 lacs.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. There is no official name given to the alumni network. However, the majority of the alumni are in touch with the faculty members and help them in placing the students. Every year college also celebrate the contribution provided by the alumni by organizing an alumni meet.

Admission

I topped the entrance exam conducted for a master's in environmental management at lady Irwin college. I enrolled for the course as I am keen on exploring solutions to make this world a sustainable place to live. I truly believe this master's degree has helped to understand the myriad of sustainability related changes that the world is facing due to consumption and investment choices.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is very supportive at Lady Irwin College. I believe if one wants to learn the true benefits of women empowerment, one must visit my college. The female lead faculty at the college is not only emotional bolster the well being of students, but also opens up an array of a wide range of opportunities for the students.

The students become eligible for placements in the last semester. Primal Group, Allen Career Institute, Akash Institute, etc a lot of companies came for placement. This is a time of recession. So, very few students get placements. My plan is to join the coaching industry as a teacher after my degree.

Placement Experience:

From final year onwards students become eligible for placements. There are lot of companies like Accenture, flipkart, Amazon, HSBC, etc which offer 5-10 students. The highest package was 50lakhs -1Cr and average is 9- 15 LPA. Usually much students get placed from our college. But this year the percentage is very low could be due the firing of freshers and fear of corporate companies to hire freshers. I Will go for the placements which is still going ( second season ).
