Mallika Mariyam's Review On Lady Irwin College, New Delhi

Because food technology is one of the most emerging field in allover world and lady irwin is the college which was founded by dorothy irwin. Home science was the first course which was introduced and if you see legacy of our college you will get to know that home science was first introduced in lady irwin college in Asia. And food technology is fusion of both domain i. e food as well as technology and I think lady irwin within few years will excel in this field When I joined college NIRF ranking was 12. And lady irwin is also accredited with NAAC A+ AND it is under the ages of DBT STAR COLLEGE.

Its actually very interesting course like we get to learn about food and nutrition what calorie one should take at one point you’ll feel like as if you have become dietician but you are not you really have to work hard but yes in this course you can make your menu plans, we studied about biochemistry., thermal physics as our generic subject those were also very interesting and in last semester we learnt about public health nutrition as subject which was quite interesting.

It was observatory internship in DELHI MILK SCHEME.

In college we don't have much opportunities but one can find job by sources or internship in which they have applied before, our teachers force us to do internship in summers. Luckily because our HOD we got internship in DMS (DELHI MILK SCHEME).

I have not very active in events and all because I more of studios person but my friends are very active in fest and everything and its quite simple. Talking about fest so quintessence is our fest name and it’s one of the best fest in delhi. 2 years back Ayushman khurana came to our college and the crowd was crazy because it was first time ayushman came to any college of DU.

To be honest I applied for merit scholarship but haven’t got any. Only those students get scholarship who are economically weak that’s what I have heard but there is no much option for scholarship nowadays.

Its has vintage feeling that British sort of touch. We have basketball court, canteen, library and fully air-conditioned computer labs, our college has indoor parking, there is so much greenery in our college.

Our hostel can accommodate 200-250 students, they celebrate all festivals. They have small gathering on every function and hostellers get special food on some occasions otherwise food of hostel is ok not very tasty but that how every hostel food is. I mean ghar ke khaane ki baat hi kuch aur hai yaar.
