Remarks
The course I'm pursuing is taught in only 2 colleges, SSCBS and mine. It is a professional, undergraduate course in management, specialisation in Financial and Investment Analysis. It is one of a kind in terms of curriculum. Moreover, the culture at my college is very different from regular DU colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is unique and relevant to current financial and business conditions. The Academics are decent, better than most DU colleges but not the best. Industrial exposure was decent. Not comparable to say, CBS, but better than many colleges. Our faculty is the best in college, always available, and approachable. But since the course is new, sometimes it's difficult to follow the syllabus or find sources to study from.
Internships Opportunities
I interned in the treasury department of Hero Cycles Ltd. in my second year. Ir was unpaid, but the work was good.
Placement Experience
Companies like Wipro, Tresvista, Protiviti etc have visited campus but the placement services of college is not satisfactory yet. However, it is on the path of improvement as Management courses are mow graduating college.
College Events
Campus life is okay considering it's an off campus college. Societies like Mukhauta are well known in the University. Fests are not that great (off campus). Technical fests are good. I have been an active member of societies like ECell, Enactus, Placement Cell etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships floated every year for meritorious/underprivileged/category people. I didn't avail any, but it's there. Interviews are conducted for the same. I haven't heard of anyone applying for loans to study in DU, generally speaking.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is one of the best aspects of the college. It's a newly constructed campus. Library is not as resourceful for the new courses but good for old ones. The grounds are great. Canteen can be better. Classrooms are good but few.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is only given to 1st year students. Hostel is average in cleanliness, bad in terms of food. PGs aren't very easily available and the area around college is not very good so most students prefer living either in Noida or other better localities which are far from college.
