Remarks

College management is very strict. Discipline in every regard needs to be maintained. Be punctual about time and academics needs to be taken seriously.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is at par with all standard Universities. The course is focuses on applied economics and theoretical economics. It lays a good foundation for further studies. The course is not industry specific rather it is mostly titled towards having a strong theoretical foundation in Economics. Placements are quite good.

Placement Experience

3.5

The College has a dedicated placement cell. Internships are not provided by the department. You have yosearch for them yourself. Most of the students sitting for the Plscement secure good jobs. Some sessions are held keeping in mind the requirement of the industry, although they are not frequent.

College Events

3.5

Every department has its own academic summit where students actively participate in paper presentation, quizzes, debate and many more. The College organises Xavotsav, and other such cultural events every year. The college has a good reputation in the commerce and management courses where management events are held at a regular basis.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its affordable for the middle income group. Fees are taken quarterly through online payment mode. Average fees ranges around 3500-4500 quarterly, although the fees is much higher in self financed courses and also in courses which involves practicals and laboratory facilities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are usually not offered to the best of my knowledge. There are prizes for merit if one secures positions at the end of the course. However there are concessions on tuition fees for economically weaker students. It's best to check the college websites for the same.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is not very rewarding as there is academic pressure most of the times. Although the canteen is decent there are outside options for going out to eat etc. Gender ratio is evenly balanced and some courses have more guys than girls and vice versa. No parties are allowed in the college premises. There are different societies for dance, drama, theatre etc with many active participants. Debates are very frequently held and students from various parts of India join the college. The college authorities does not discriminate with regard to gender, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No, I didn't live in the college hostels. However I know a little bit about it. Hostel authorities are very strict about time and usually guests are not allowed. Men and Ladies hostels are located at different campuses.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are helpful although this varies from batch to batch. They will tell you the tricks and terms of surviving these years in college. The college maintains a strong Alumni network.

Admission

Economics has been one of the most germane discipline in Social Sciences. SXC provides good foundation for carrying on with the discipline for higher studies. Selection is based on merit(i.e. Marks in the 12th Standard). Getting through is a bit difficult as some of the best students combat for a seat.

Faculty

5

Faculty members are well experienced and knowledgeable. Average no of lecture hours are about 23-25. Most of the faculty holds a doctoral degree. Most of them know the subject well and maintain rigour in their teaching standards. They also guide students in their dissertation work. You are free to approach them with any research proposal you may have.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
