Remarks

The condonation fees is very high, the attendance criteria is very rigid and sometimes hqrd to achieve the percentage of attendance due to various reasons.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Semester system is very good, exam dates and vacations are student friendly. We had summer vacation, winter vacation, post exam vacation. During college days we didn't miss any of the hons and pass classes because the notes the professor's gave us were very crucial for exam purpose.

Placement Experience

4

Placement cell is active for some courses like statistics, mathematics, comp sc and BCOM. I joined placement cell and got the chance for interview of an renowned company.

College Events

5

Xavotsav- the annual fest, Xavullash, Beyond Barrier, Goonj anf many more promotional events. Joined each and every events during the three golden years of my college days. Xavullash is an event for which we wait for an year. This three day event is a must visit fest in Kolkata. Xavullash is the fest of Bengali community.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive indeed. It's a non governmental college. That's why the fee structure is not feasible to the middle-class families. Poor students can't dare to enter this college due to this reason. I had many difficulties to pay the semester fees on the start of every quarter.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got INSPIRE scholarship, which is an initiative of central Govt. Got the scholarship of 60 thousands per annum and it really helped me to complete my graduation.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus is very clean and beautiful, students are mostly disciplined and awareness is visible in every aspect of the college. Gender ratio is one to one. Economic diversity is not that much because the students are mostly of good socio economic background. Extracurricular activities are always there to welcome students to be a part of.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No. I don't have any ideas about hostel. Cause my home is a 30 minutes bus ride from college. I used to go to college from home. Most of my friends also did the same. Hostel facility is excellent as much as I heard about.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes alumni association is very strong and has a strong network around the globe. They organise many social events across the world and help common people.

Admission

Reputed institution. Politics free, awesome Faculty, one of the top most colleges in India, good environment, modern teaching schedule, nice academic infrastructure, very good in non academic activities, social service schemes also present, has it's own glamour.

Faculty

4.5

6 lecturers for hons. And 4 to 5 lecturers on each pass courses. They are very nice to students. They give relevant lectures and very disciplined. They gave us lecture in our mother tongue. They loved us as their children. After class they helped us personally sometimes.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

My collage provides internships, and the average package is also good. From the sixth semester one can become eligible for internships. My plan is to study further, Msc and PhD.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
