Remarks

Positive- The diversity of the college is huge. The quality of education provided is good and practical. The extracurricular activities leave immensely positive impact on the pupils, helping everyone to become a complete human being in general Negative- some of the infrastructure of the buildings are poor.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is good. The department always gives students the space to study at ease. Labs are okayish. The exam structure is determined by the students themselves including the routine and all. The dates of exams are flexible and are set according to the students.

Placement Experience

4

The company market varies over years, it mainly depends on the vacancies in any post. But overall the job opportunities for students who study are good. There are internship programs in Jadavpur University. The stripend is set according to the state stripend amount.

College Events

5

Jadavpur University fests are known all over Kolkata for their diversity. In Engineering only there are 2 Main fresher's fests, 1 technical fest, 1 cultural fest apart from the individual departmental festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are admitted through the entrance exam the government provides you an reammbarsment of 35000.The actual College fee is 78000 removing this 35000 we have to pay 43000, this criteria is for OBC students. The OC students admitted through the entrance have to pay the whole college fee 78000.There is another category called management in which students have to pay around 4 Lakhs donation and the full academic fee.For SC and ST students there will be no fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a lot of good scholarships. For pupils who come from a economically poor background get 80000 rupees two times during their graduations. There are scholarships on merit also. People who score good CGPAs are given scholarships.

Campus Life

3

Jadavpur University is a hive of extracurricular activities. Labs are okayish. The sports activities include- cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess and a lot more. There are clubs for mountaineering, music, entrepreneurship, writing skills etc. The gender ratio is not an issue in the college. Anyone can play anything. This is one of the best things in here. Politics is a healthy practice here. Not the politics we know out there. This politics includes knowing different ideologies and creating a good background to see the things happening in the outside world.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumnis are the support to the university. They are utterly helpful in any problems or concerns. The festivals are literally done with the grants of the alumnis and interested seniors. So the question of getting affected is not there at all.

Admission

I got into the college by clearing WBJEE. I got in Construction Engineering department in the spot round counselling. There was no interview or anything like that. The admission is entirely based on the WBJEE rank.

Faculty

4

Some of the faculties are really good. They have a job experience with teaching experience, which makes their teaching style more practical. But there are some bad faculties also, who don't actually put effort to teach properly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-> CSE is the main stream because under this, other courses like Cybersecurity can be learned as extra courses, while still learning things that are very important like DSA and DAA. -> Everything is taught slightly fast and students have to keep up everyday. Even one class missed will be heavy on studying. -> The mic quality in some classes are bad and should be improved. It's impossible to understand what the teachers says when using them. -> Usually term exams start one month after the start of a semester, with the Semester exam being held 3 months later.
