Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is quite ok here though not quite good,same that is being followed from earlier times never updated once it was made especially for our branch,Exams are basically held two times a semester mid(30) and end(50) semester 20 marks are for student assessment

Placement Experience

Placement this year has been quite low due to the economic slowdown due to demonetization and all such also the core sector is shifting towards electrical from mecahanical resulting in less placement for mechanical this year, placement in branches like cse are awesome

College Events

Basically there are three fests.urja which is the annual sports meet,it is an interesting branch event, OJASS ANNUAL techno-management fest second largest in north east India,which heavy footfall from nearby colleges then CULFEST which is the cultural fest if the college

Hostel Facilities

Hostels facilities are quite good here as the hostels are newly constructed they are still in their gloom mess facilities are good there are hostels till K,and the new academic building work has been almost completed maybe starting from next sem

Admission

I gave the joint entrance examination, both the attempts January and April best of them was taken as final and through counselling I was allotted this college. We had to undergo two rounds of registration one at the center and other at the college itself through which I was allotted this branch of production and industrial engineering

Faculty here are average varying with various departments Maths,mechanical, electrical department have good faculties on the other hand faculties of physics department are not ok And lacks even the basic requirements

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
