Management tries to work things out since it's a new college with less funds.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum and exam structure followed by the college is that of the west Bengal university. According to me it's not at all research driven or takes a plays a very good role in making us a better professional since it is mostly theory based.The practical knowledge imparted is very short.
Placement Experience
Since during my time the college was a new one so there were very few on campussing. We mostly took part in the off campussing recruitments. The companies which came for on campus recruitment were Capgemini,Pi infotech,Subex,Cognizant,etc. There are normally 3 steps for recruitment in these companies-1)Aptitude 2)Technical interview 3)hour interview. Some companies may have a coding and/or group discussion around also. about 60% students get placed every year. The college provides Softskill and Technical skill classes to prepare for placements.
College Events
The events celebrated are The Annual Technical and Cultural fest.then there are other cultural events like teacher's day.etc.People from other colleges in kolkata takes part in fest. The fest takes place for about 3 to 4 days. The fest includes sports like football, cricket,badminton,carrom, dart thourowing etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is moderate and same as any other engineering college.So according to me it's quite feasible, given it's a private engineering college.No additional amount is to be paid for admission. You will be provided a detailed information regarding the fee breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
no the college does not provide any scholarship or education loans.I dont know if they recently have started any such schemes.
Campus Life
Labs have all equipments present. Students get to do extracurricular activities, robotics etc only in the annual technical fest of the college. But the robotics events of the fest are quite good.the students do get to learn a great deal from the teachers also as they help them a lot. Students from other colleges also take part.
Hostel Facilities
The college does not provide any hostels. And since my college is in my hometown only, I did not need any hostels. Students coming from other parts of the country stayed in pgs nearby the college.The college is a new one so they might open hostels later.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors become like family.We were the second batch of our college. So our seniors ie the previous batch guided and welcomed us like their own brothers and sisters.They helped with notes question papers everything.
Admission
After the 3rd counseling I got selected in this collge. So it's better to say I didnt select the college, the college selected me. For admission, first you have to give the joint entrance exam. Then according to your rank you will be alloted colleges. There will be 3 counseling for this allotment of college.after the 3rd counseling you will have to get admission to your respective college.
Faculty
we had about 20 -21 teachers over all the 8 semesters. average age of the lecturers vary from 30 to 40years qualification Mtech or PhD All of the lecturers were qualified and experienced enough to solve and answer all doubts of the students. They took all the required efforts to teach us.
