Remarks

The college has posh environment, many parks and grounds, Nescafe, Subway, Cafe Coffee day outlets to hang out. Juice shops and Amul outlets are also available *within the campus* which is the best part here. A little irritating thing that students generally talk about is the attendance criteria which is 75%, but in the end if we want to achieve something we need to sacrifice something. Small efforts at this age will result into bigger achievements in future.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The college is affiliated to Punjab Technical University and therefore the curriculum is of PTU. There are two sessional exams(24 marks each) and then the Final semester exam(60 marks)per semester. Practicals are also included in the curriculum and there are exams for the same as well. Both internal practicals and external practicals are there and carry marks in the final result. The exams are easy to score as the sessionals have less syllabus and can be prepared in very less time, this preparation in turn helps in end-semester exams also. Preparatory holidays are also given before the end-semester exams that ensure a full proof preparation.

Placement Experience

5

There are many placement opportunities in the campus as our college has tie-ups with many leading companies like Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, Tech Mahindra and many many more companies visiting as our mass recruiters inside the campus and Microsoft also comes to this college but they take the most professional people only. We have our own Training and Placement Program of our college that in included in the curriculum for the grooming of an individual for the top notch companies. We have our in campus AMCAT exam that is comparable to the company tests and thus helps us get ready for the future exams. The average package is 3-5 lakhs and the best package till date is 31 lakhs which is commendable. We also have Industrial Visits which help us understand the process and environment of Industry we will work in.

College Events

5

This college is the hub for many events including international ones as well. Technical events include expert talks and Conferences of reknowned persons. Cultural events include band performances, Bhangra, Natis, fashion shows, competitions etc on a regular basis. We have Coke Studios, DJ nights with singers like B Praak, Ranjit Bawa, Parmish Verma, Badshah and many more. International conferences are also held in our college for different departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is the most reasonable in North India as compared to other colleges according to the facilities we get here. Infrastructure and the cleanliness is maintained on regular basis. For B.tech the annual fees is 86, 000 lakhs which is feasible as all other colleges don't offer the facilities we have here.

Fees and Financial Aid

College gives ample of scholarships to deserving students like on merit basis, on reserved class basis and some other scholarship schemes as well. Here scholarships are provided to top 10 students and concessions are also given to those who take admission thourough counselling.

Campus Life

4.5

The college hosts sports day and various sports events like marathons. Sports events include racing, tug of war, kabaddi, cricket, badminton, shot put, javelin thourow, handball, table tennis, long jump, relay races etc. There are Intercollege events organized by PTU that motivate the students to take part in sports activities by organizing events in different states and thourough trophies and cash prizes.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I am a day scholar but I know about the hostels provide decent facilities here. Separate girls' and Boys' hostels are there and the food is of best quality and has variety also. Girls' Hostel has 4 seater rooms and Boys' hostels have 4 seater, 3 seater, 2 seater and single seater rooms and have charges accordingly. Fees is 90, 000 annually from 2020 onwards.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni here are exceptionally helpful and they give guidance to juniors to enhance their skills and get industry ready according to the market trends. The college also hosts alumni meets on regular basis and makes the juniors interact with them for any queries and to get feedbacks.

Admission

I am a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering in this college. Currently I am in third year and guess what the placement process has already started. This was the reason that lead me to this college, a fabulous record of 96.7% placements every year. I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because of the fact that it included more of practical work rather than simply coding. This branch can also take you to CSE companies as well as the ME companies also(bonus.) if you wish to. Admission process is quite easy, you only need to walk in with your documents namely, 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet, 2 passport sized photographs and the fee slip after paying the first semester payment and in case you don't have the money in advance you can deposit some amount (according to your course) and book your seat and submit the fees after joining. They'll tell you the date of joining and will also assist you to see the Campus if you wish to. Girls' Hostel is inside the campus and Boys' Hostels are all outside. Proper safety is ensured for everyone as it is an anti-ragging campus.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty in the college is really helpful and encouraging. As in my block, we have highly qualified teachers who have many patents and research papers and also help the students with the same. The training and placement teachers specially engage registered students to take part in Group Discussions and Personal Interviews that help in placements. Proper guidance is given to students who are weak in particular areas and they are ever ready to help the students with career counseling also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
