Remarks

CEC can be a perfect Destination for you is good placement and a good start to your career is your Aim. It gives a wide pool of opportunities and wide exposure to brush up yourself and get ready for the corporate world.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum followed in the college is the AICTE curriculum followed PAN India in technical institution which I must admit is very outdated and not so helpfully in gaining the skilled required to sustain in Corporate. But the college organizes its own technical classes on daily basis supported by the Training and placement Department to sharpen the students technically and make them ready for placements. The exams are not usually hectic and are easy to go, but one need to maintain attandance and be regular in the TPP classes.college is indeed fun and chilling.

Placement Experience

5

Chandigarh group of college is synonymous to good placements. It has the best placement record in the region with techno Giants like Google, Amazon visiting the campus for placements. The average placement last year stood for 6.5 lacs highest being 42 lacs in Google. If you talk of CSE department more than 90% of the students were placed which in itself is a great thing. As far as internships are concerned, yes the TPP Department takes care of it, not all but most students get good internships opportunities as well.

College Events

4.5

College organizes various technical and non-technical events throughout the year. There are various societies and clubs which conduct several Departmental and interdepartmental competition and attract huge masses. National days are celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and energy and the college is also a frequent destination for celebrities for promotions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of the college is fairly good and convenient for most people.semester fee is around RS 43000 which as compared to other institution is very low. Other charges may include transport fee if applicable and per semester examination fee of RS 720 and reappear fee if you have any supplies. Hence in all the fee structure is fine.

Fees and Financial Aid

Merit based scholarship is offered to students who have a good academic record of 12th or have an excellent JEE rank. Semester toppers and University toppers are also awarded every year and scholarship as well as financial aid can be provided based on merit or financial conditions.Loan facilities are also provide to the needful and college provide assistance to the students in all the stages.

Campus Life

5

The college has a very vibrant and accomodating campus and has various exciting societies and clubs which every student can join as per their interests, various clubs in various departments organizes several technical and non-technical events throughout the year. We have a annual Fest of the college called parivartan which is a great attraction and has various celebrities and Bollywood starts performing. Social clubs are also present who campaign on social causes and are joined by several students. There are debating societies and MUN societies as well. The college has a very millennial vibe and a very liberal environment to adapt every person irrespective of differences. Ragging is strictly banned.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facilities of the college is good enough and has various options like 2,3 or 4 seater rooms. The college has a newly constructed multistory Hostel equipped with elevators and centralized cooling system. The charges are from 80000 to 100000 per year including food. Quality of food is also good especially breakfast and dinner.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network of the college is indeed a strong one with distinguish alumni across the world. Each year the college organizes an alumni meet to catch up with them. There are several talks and conversation also organized to guide students.

Admission

Computer Science Engineering is one of the most trending streams nowadays the widest pool of opportunities. hence considering the placement record and feasibility of Chandigarh Engineering College I chose to be a part of it. Admission is based on your JEE rank as well as merit in +2 exams. Admission is fairly easy is you have a moderate academic record in 12 th and a good to go JEE Rank.

Faculty

3

Faculty of the college is average though but the Training and placement Department is indeed very good they have the best technical and interpersonal skills trainers for the students and are very supportive throughout. This all the skills and subject which a student general requires to grab a good placement opportunity is taken care of.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
