Remarks

Being a government college, this college is really very nicely build and maintained. The fees structure being very feasible and a whole lot of facilities provided. Even elections are held every year so thay you can choose your representative.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I selected Bsc. Mathematical Science as my course which includes Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science as core subjects. So if you are thinking for post graduation, then you will have three options to select from. Course structure was pretty simple, books were easily available in the library, notes were provided by teachers and labs were conducted frequently to help the students gain practical knowledge. Semester system is followed, that means 2 semesters in a year. So a three year course will include 6 semesters, each semester containing 4 subjects each. Odd semester exams are held in dec while even semester exams are held in may. Results are released online in about 1 or 1 and a half month of exams.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of the college is one of the best placement cells in the whole university. Top companies like KMPG, EY, RBS, Amazon, Delloite, PWC, Wipro and many more, visit the college every year to hire students from various different courses. The facebook page of the placement cell keeps the students informed about all the companies that are coming to visit. Internship fair is also held every year where many top companies visit to hire interns providing descent stipend.

College Events

5

Every year a number of fests are held im the college campus. There are small fests, that are the fests organized by every department from the college, then there is the big main fest, organized by the college president and ruling party. Some of the departmental fests like Computer science fest XENIUM, commerce society fest COMMERCIUMCOMMERCIUM. Various events are organized In these fests where any student can participate and even win some money. The main fest AAGHAZ is held around Feb which is held on a large scale, where every year different celebrities come and perform. Various celebrities like Raftaar, Milind Gaba, Jeeveshu Alhuwalia etc have visited the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure for the college is really very low. For a general category student, the maximum amount of fees that he'll have to pay is 20k per year. No course demands fees more than this amount. So your graduation will be completed in like 60k. Some courses demand as less as 5k per year as fees. So its really bery feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

No kind of scholarship or loan is provided by the college. Since the fees is really low and feasible, no such facility is provided to the students. But even in this low amount of fees a number of facilities are provided to the students, such as computer labs, statistics labs, playground, canteens, volleyball court, basketball court, cricket nets.

Campus Life

3.5

Actions towards racism or any other kind of stuff like that, are really strict in the college. Various different workshops are held on a frequent basis to help students evolve and learn different techniques that'll help them build their CV. Computer labs, stats labs, library are open to all with good quality machines and air conditioning. Moreover there is college's volleyball team, basketball team, cricket team, football team and many other indoor sports teams in which students can give trials and get selected.

Alumni/Alumna

Tolerance to Ragging is 0 and strict actions are taken against ragging. Although there is 0 ragging in the college. Seniors are really very helpful and kind. Most of the questions that you have about anything, your seniors will have the answer to it. More than yours seniors, they will be your friends. Talking about alumni, a lot of cricketers like Parwinder Awana, Mohinder Amarnath are PGDAV alumni. And the famous Kauva biryani Actor Vijay Raaz, is also an alumni of this college.

Admission

The admissiom process to Delhi University is quite simple. An online form is release every year in May by DU for students who wish to apply to the university for undergraduate/postgraduate. Students simply need to fill out all the details asked in the form including the courses you wish to apply for and pay a small amount of fees (used to be Rs. 100 during my time). After some time a cutoff list is released by the university for each course and each college differently. If a student has higher percentage than the cutoff percentage required, than the student shall be eligible to take admission in that particular college in that particular course. Again after few days another cutoff list is released for the seats that remain vacant. The process continues until all the seats are filled. Foe further admission process you have to visit the college

Faculty

4

The teaching staff is really well qualified and efficient. There is a seperate Head of Department (HOD) for every department, , ie, science, commerce, arts etc. Most of the teachers have Doctorates degree to their name. Attendance of th teachers is really good, in case a teacher is not able to take a lecture, then the teacher informs the Class representative (CR) prior to the day of lecture. Also the teachers are really helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
