Remarks

Infrastructure of our college is very old that's why ranking is not so good. But new academics building is under construction which will be completed in 1 and 1/2 years and then it will easily compete with the other premier colleges of India.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our course curriculum is now revised last year and is well designed to introduce you with the subjects that we have learnt in our 11th and 12th standard and also with the basics of core subject in the 1st year and then 2nd and 3rd year mostly focuses on the core subject deeply to understand all the concepts regarding various subjects of the core branch and in 4th year we have to learn about the sustainable development, impact on environment and 1-2 core subject. Also we have to do one minor and one major project in our 4th year related to the topic provided by the project teacher and submit the report and give proper presentation on it.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement of NIT Jamshedpur is among the best in NITs and NIT-Jsr is well known for its placement records. More than 300 companies visit our college for placement purpose and also provide higher package upto 42 Lakhs and the placement percentage of our college is nearly upto 98% and the average CTC is around 5-6 Lakhs. Our college also provide internships to the interested students and provide stipend of Rs 10000 per month for 2 months. In my branch(MME) last year the placement percentage was 100% and this year is also expected to touch that.

College Events

4

Our college conduct mainly 3 large fests i. e. Ojass (Technical fest), Culfest (Cultural fest) and Urja (Annual Sports meet). Various branch fest are also celebrated in our college i. e. Technica (Metallurgical Branch fest), Cognitio (Mechanical Branch fest) and Vidhaan (Civil Branch fest). Ojass is celebrated in the month of march and about 4000 participants come from different colleges including our own college participants. Ojass has a wide variety of options for all branches and also different innovative and ideas based competition and it has prize money worth 20 Lakhs. Culfest is basically a cultural fest involving different competition like singing, dancing, fashion, art, quizzes, etc. It was prizes worth upto 18 Lakhs. Urja is the annual sports meet of NIT Jamshedpur and it involves various sports events like cricket, soccer, volleyball, basketball, athletics, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of NIT Jamshedpur is quite expensive and when i got admission my total fees including tuition, mess and hostel is Rs 99000 per semester and it can be said it costs me around 8 Lakhs for graduating from the college and current fee structure is way more than that it will cost around Rs 1. 15 Lakhs per semester including tuition, hostel and mess fees. Our college also provide fee remission of 2/3rd on tuition fees to families who have less than 5 Lakhs income annually and full fee remission on tuition fees to families who have income less than 1 Lakh annually. According to me NIT Jamshedpur fee structure is expensive as it is way more than some private colleges fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our colleges time to time post about different scholarship on its website from where students can apply to it. Also NIT Jamshedpur has bank facility at its campus which easily provide loan facility to the needed students on very minimum rates and it is easily accessible.

Campus Life

2

NIT Jamshedpur has various clubs like LDS (Literary and Debating Society), CDS (Cultural and Dancing Society), Pheonix, Drift, Daksh, etc. These clubs conducts various events regularly throughout the year. There is no discrimination towards anybody on the basis on gender, race, colour, religion, etc. Workshops are regularly organised by various outer professors, scientists or alumunis. Overall everything seems to be fine if one wants to involve in anything then he/she can easily participate and learn these things.

Alumni/Alumna

NIT Jamshedpur's alumuni's network is very big and vast. Our alumunis are almost everywhere and yes of-course they are very helpful to their juniors or college fellas. Seniors are like big brothers here and will treat one like we are their small brothers and help us to grow and achieve great height in life.

Admission

First of all to get admission in any NIT one has to clear JEE Main exam and after that proper choice filling and counselling is done to get into the college and if get your desired choice that you have applied then one has to fixed seat using JOSAA portal. I choose Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur in 2016 after clearing JEE Main and have done all the above process to get into the college.

Faculty

4

Well our college has a lot of permanent professors and temporary professors. Some professors of our college has done their PhD from various renowned colleges like IITs, NITs and from foreign colleges. Many professors of our college has experience of more than 20 years of teaching and are well known for their knowledge in their field. Also new professors who are joining in our college has a lot of experience in teaching field and are young hence they easily understand the mindset of the new generation and therefore can handle the students very well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.
