Remarks

College is good for studying Mechanical Engineering from the point of view of placements but not very good if you want to build your knowledge for higher studies such as M.Tech. One has to qualify GATE exam. The course content is not strong enough to prepare one for the same. However, College has a good environment, good crowd and learning environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course structure is average. Course duration is 4 years. One has to pass all the subjects of the course which are compulsory, along with practical subjects that include drafting and mechanical workshop. Last semester is meant for 6 months Industrial training and every summer one has to do a 6 weeks internship.

Placement Experience

4

The College is one of the best for placements in the state of Punjab. Many big reputed companies come here for recruitment, for example Mahindra and Mahindra, Godrej, FMC, ITC, TAFE, Sanmar group, John Deere etc. These are only for mechanical. For IT sector there are tens of companies that recruit here

College Events

3

Many departmental technical events are held such aa quizzes, cultural events include annual fest named as “Parivartan” which has numerous Technical ans non Technical events as well as cultural events. Then there is an annual function where awards are given to the academic achievers, some cultural events also take place during this. Companies associated with the College also organise events and the winners get to do paid internship with them. Fresher parties are organised every year to welcome new students. Sports events such as cricket leagues, athletic events are also organised sometime by College and sometimes by studentes themselves

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is charged on semester basis. For four years there are 8 semesters. Each semester there was a fee of Rs. 40,000 totalling an amount of Rs. 3,20,000. This is feasible and not very expensive. Fee is revised every year for the new batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

College does not provide any loan facility. My father took loan from State Bank of India. There are several public sector banks in India that provide loans for students at low rates. The criteria for that is school marks and one has to show the mark sheet of passed semester in order to avail installment of next semester fee.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are well equipped. As the College is NBA accredited, the standards are maintained. There are departmental committees that include students which organise events. However given the technical nature of the course, most of the events are technical in nature. There is a healthy male female ration in College. However for Mechanical Engineering there was not a single girl in my class or other years of the course. The College crowd is cosmopolitan as students from various places come to study here. Hindus, muslims, Sikhs, Christians and other religion students study together and there is a good harmony and tolerance between students as well as faculty.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel has good infrastructure. Hostel includes double, triple and quadruple sharing rooms. Hostel has gym facilities and sports ground as well as reading room cum library. Hostel also has a common room. Mess is available in hostel with three time meals and evening snacks. Hostel fee was revised every year by approximately Rs. 5000

Alumni/Alumna

I had interaction with my seniors who guided me regarding the approach towards studies as well as readiness for placements for which I was advised to sharpen my soft skills and general knowledge and awareness in the field of Mechanical Engineering/ Automobile Engineering. I joined Society of automobile Engineers and participated in the events such as SAE-NIS Efficycle. For the competition guidance from seniors was very helpful

Admission

I got admission into the College with my JEE score by applying through Punjab Technical University Counselling process. I came to know about the College through my friend. I wanted to be a mechanical Engineer and this College offer very good placements in that stream and the College is accredited by National Accredition Board

Faculty

2.5

There are some very good and experienced faculty who have teaching experience of more than 20 years, some have moderate experience while most are relatively new. As a whole the faculty is quite average.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is good and it is improving since then. TPO looks after this process and it is responsible to call comapnies to the college and discuss about the eligibility of the students who can appear for the placements. For internships, students in the 3rd year appear for it while for placements 4th year students can appear. The average package is approx. 8-9 LPA while the highest has gone to 64 LPA during my college duration. Almost all students get placement.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

Placement Experience:

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??
