Remarks

The college is alright but it being affiliated to another University means that the exam are conducted by the university and so the results provided cannot be properly challenged if we feel like it is not correct. There is reevaluation option but more often then not the results remains the same or with a few minor changes.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is not very good but not so bad in my opinion. The subjects are in accordance with the latest AICTE guidelines. The course curriculum and exams are provisioned by the affiliated University PTU.

Placement Experience

Since I am still a student here at the college I don't know about the experience but the placements and job opportunities are okay. The average package is around 5 lakhs with highest package going as far as 32 lakhs. The college doesn't provide internship to my knowledge.

College Events

All the religious, national holidays are celebrated here. The best annual event of our college is PARIVARTAN. It is a techno-event. It lasts for 2 days. There are many events to participate in during this and the there concert at the event of both nights.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. As the college fee is only Rs 43000 per semester. If we include other expenses to this the fee can go up to Rs. 47000 but Rs. 90000-95000 per year is very reasonable fee for an engineering college

Fees and Financial Aid

I am availing the scholarship provided by the college's affiliated University PTU for the Punjab residents with the annual family income of less than 6 lakhs. Through the scholarship my college fee is merely a fraction of the original fee. I have to pay only Rs. 13000 per semester as opposed to the original Rs 43000

Campus Life

There are many clubs in the college which organise a lot of events and extracurricular activities. The labs are well maintained and we'll staffed. The sports facilities are also very good. The sports team also go for the national level playoffs.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, I have opted for the hostel facility provided by the college. The hostel building is reasonable. The rooms are fine. There is an option of 2,3,and 4 seater rooms. The food is not good. The hostel Wardens are very rude. They don't care about the well-being of the student. They just want to do their duty and get the money.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not so good but the seniors are helpful. I have a few friends in the senior years and they have provided me with some good advice. They have also helped me with settling in the new location and providing me with the geographical help as well

Admission

I got admission through the college's affiliated University counselings based on JEE MIANS for which I had to apply on the university's website. I process was pretty straight forward. I got the admission in the first seating of the counseling sessions owing to my good JEE MAINS rank

Faculty

The faculty of the college is better than some of the other engineering college as the teachers actually do teach their subject rather than opting to suggest to the use of internet or reference books.

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Likes

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
