Remarks
Its government managed university so funds were limited but still quality was good but with new campus came after we passed out so it seems like good investment flowing in and some new courses also get introduced with more emphasis on research.
Entrance Preview
Qualified GATE-2007 with an all india rank of 1041 and applied for M.Tech (IT) at GGSIPU, Delhi. Got selected after first counselling and as far as making a choice is concerned, it will be tough to make it to any IIT or NIT with current rank and dropping a year is not seems a good idea for me so i made the choice and i think i made a good one.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure was good with few awesome senior faculties but others are not that good with no or little emphasis on research and practical but overall its not a bad decision anyways with limited choices i had.
Internships Opportunities
Being a M.Tech student only TCS came for us to recruit with lots of criteria restriction for me when company sets criteria it looks like they do not believe in education system and selection criteria of college/university itself which looks like demeaning the institute itself.
College Events
As it is a university campus and is already running four different schools of engineering which has students from all over the country and some even from different countries as well, college festivals are fun and awesome and there are so many so i sometimes miss them too.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Qualifying GATE make you eligible for government scholarships and it was sufficient to live a student life.
Campus Life
Awesome campus life specially in hostels from night outs to late night online gaming to exam preparations, birthday parties, sports meets (campus as well as in hostel).
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are always awesome places as you get first hand experience of lots of things that you can not get as a day scholar hostels are good and food quality was actually well maintained by hostelers fees were nominal comparing to how costly it was to live
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is not that awesome but most of us are connected via social networking sites, whatsapp etc. and only reason for not being well connected seems different priorities and we turned from students to professionals so commitments changed.
