Inside USICT

There is strong emphasis on programmming and core IT subjects. Subjects like Data Structures Algorithms DBMS Networking etc.Unlike other IPU colleges,USICT has more flexibility in its syllabus.The syllabus is updated with new trends like AI,ML and cloud computing.

In the year 2023 over 100+ internship offers came to students. Prominent companies offering internshps at USICT: Amazon IBM Oracle Samsung huawei nagarro Stipend depends upon the company and role that is offered.

Campus placements were at boom in year 2022 with average of about 12lpa and about 95% of students got placed. There has been a decline in placements after that year but it is still decent . USICT gives you opportunities to sit in placement interviews of big companies but a stundent has to work hard to get it. Average package for previous year was nearly 7.5-8 Lpa. Some recruiters of USICT include Amazon,Samsung,Nagarro,Adobe,Oracle,JP Morgan,Airtel and many more.

First year : Rs.175500 Second,Third,Fourth year : Rs.163500 SCHOLARSHIPS: 1: Government scholarships like EWS scholarships and merit-cum means scholarships through government portals like E-district. 2:Merit based scholarships Fees for SC/ST categories is same as general.

The ANUGOONJ is annual fest of GGSIPU and is held in february. This is one of the biggest annual fest of delhi which goes for 3 days and nearly 1 lakh people attended anugoonj last year. Library is very big with good infrastructure and all types of books available. There is a separate computer sections with computers to work for students. Sports event every year in september, where students from all the affiliated colleges compete in different sports. Coaches for differnet sports are provided for inter university games.

Hostel facilities are satisfactory. Mess menu is according to studnets and food is generally good. For hostel priority is given to outside delhi candidates first so usually all the students of hostel are of ouutside delhi. All the rooms are single sharing.

I applied to JOSAA counselling for NITs/IIITs but did not get tech branches in those colleges,. I also applied for JAC Delhi counselling for DTU,NSUT,IIITD but did not get desired seat and branch. So, i decided to choose USICT where i got Information technology as my branch with decent IT placements.good college life,decent fees compared to other engineering colleges.

At USICT the faculty to student ratio is about 1:25.Faculties are easily approachable. Some new professors are good,understanding and helping but usually the older ones are a little rude sometimes. There are usually 1 or 2 mid sem examinations and an end sem examination. Difficulty level is easy to moderate one can easily study before 2-3 days and get good marks. Course curriculum is updated but not as good as IIT/NITs.

Outside the campus there are not many places to hangout but the metro is only about 1km far so one can easily get to other parts easily. Only good spot to hangout as far as i know is Vegas Mall. Hostel and campus in timings for boys are 11pm at night and for girls 9pm.
