Remarks

I think they need to bring a system to keep track of alumnus out of college. They should also have more focus on placements in spite of good talented students placement is not that good.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for GATE 2005 and scored 95.02 percentile and also appeared for JNU Entrance in 2006 and got rank 18 after final interview. There are lots of advantages with JNU e.g good placement, nominal fee 650 per semester for course work, amazing environment, location, faculty, infrastructure etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was flexible and top notch. There were lots of optional subjects and faculty was also very good. Though I feel a non-CS student may struggle with it initally.

Placement Experience

3.5

Though at the time of placement there were lots of good companies e.g Deloitte,IBM,Aricent etc who came there. Placement is decent though I will not call it amazing as India is mainly crazy about Indian Institutes. But the quality of work done and the fee charged for M.Tech is exceptional. I really feel this is an awesome college.

College Events

5

I did not attend many events I such but there were regular events organized in JNU. The atmosphere is really vibrant and vivid. I was member of placement committee for that year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is one thing that is really exceptional. At my time it was around 650 rs per semester and around 15 rs per month for Hostel. Food was really cheap too and it also offers very green and amazing environment.

Fees and Financial Aid

We get scholarship from government around 3000 rs per month at my time. This was really amazing considering the nominal expenses.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is uber cool. You have amazing infrastructure, out of the box library, lots of cultural and festival events, amazing crowd to interact with, very cheap and hygienic food and what not.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel is awesome and it is awarded based on ranks. The food is very good and cheap as well. They used to charge around 20 Rs for one time meal.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is one thing JNU needs to work upon. They do not have good system to track alumnus. Most of the alumnus are well placed in organizations.

Exam Structure

Exams were really good and you need to study really well to pass them. The labs were open all the time and you were free to do any work you want to. I spent most of my time on thesis work and was carrying my own laptop.

Faculty

4

Faculty was top notch and they really had good grasp on the topics they were handling. I really liked working under Late Mr R.G.Gupta who was very cooperative and supportive during my thesis. He was having strong grasp on all his subjects and he was a good mentor as well. I also liked Prof Bhardwaj and Prof Sinha while I was in JNU.

Placement Experience:

The placement of NIT Delhi without a doubt are best in business. The placement was also one of the main reasons why I opted for NIT Delhi. The placement record of the college is 100%. Companies like TATA, L&T, Adani, Arceller Mittal, Reliance, etc visit the campus during the placement drive. The highest package that any student received in our batch was 36 LPA and the average package was around 25 LPA. I was also able to secure a package of 27 LPA.

Sri Venkateswara College has a good ranking in terms of education. So, postgraduate course from this college can be worthy for students. B.Tech with 50% marks from recognized university is the academic criteria. Entrance test is done and merit list is prepared on the basis of entrance exam's score.
