Remarks

The entire situation here is quite warm and overwhelming. There are no such big negatives. The college as a whole is brilliant. Words would be less while talking about how good Jadavpur University is.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and self sufficient for overall development as a student. Exam structure - Two semesters per year. In between , for each semester , there is two rounds of class tests organized.

Placement Experience

The placement status is very high in Jadavpur University with a 100% placement record in 2018 for the CSE batch. It is quite likely that you'll be placed if u are a bit serious about what you study. I'm currently not into any internship.

College Events

There are numerous programmes going on all around the year. The annual tech fest is Srijan and takes place at around March. The annual cultural fest Sanskriti takes place after that. These events are highly encouraging and refreshing.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is by far the lowest engineering fees in the country. A general student has to pay 10k rupees which is the fees for 4 years. Hostel fees is 25 rupees per month as the room rent and food charges are also way too cheap.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any loan because of the extremely less fees. Scholarships are available for various categories , including sports. Overall , you don't need a loan if u want to study in Jadavpur University.

Campus Life

Every extra curricular activity is well established. The labs are perfect. Sports is good. There are numerous clubs which keep you engaged and refreshed throughout the year. The college strives towards all round development.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the seniors are extremely helpful. They help us a lot in various topics , they help with curriculum related stuffs and also extra curriculars. They are encouraging and friendly. There is no such thing as ragging.

Admission

I had to give WBJEE exam , wherein my rank was taken into consideration. A online counseling took place for alloting the branch. The online counseling considers all colleges which are under WBJEE and from them , according to the rank , college and branch is alloted.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is very good. They are very supportive , helpful , and true to the word. They assist us in everything , be it studies or internship and job related queries. Overall , they are great.

Placement Experience:

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements and there are plenty of companies that come like in my branch there 35-40 companies (core) came and no of offers were 30.Placement percentage was around 95%.Median package was around 7.5lpa and highest was 15lpa.Well my plans are not decided yet, currently in my 2nd year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
