Entrance Preview

Took WBJEE exam. For certain branch like mechanical it is preferable over others. Scoring less than 1500 in WBJEE is enough to take admission. It's a government college and fees is negligible with respect to others colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

It comes under WBUT which does not have that much good syllabus for an engineer. Focus is given on theoretical rather practical work. Good if you are looking for further study. Faculties are selected by tough exam and interview and are well knowledgeable than others. Some are boring though bit overall faculties are quite good and supportive also.

Internships Opportunities

No stipend in companies from here. Though selection of students were not that good during our period but it was due to recession.

Placement Experience

TCS, Tech Mahendra, PDCL are some of the companies which came. Placement was around 50%. Offer was ranging from 3LPA to 6LPA.

College Events

Annual festival held every year organised by kgecian in which some of the local star singer comes to perform.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is given to meritorious students of backward class minorities.

Campus Life

Campus life is good. A huge campus to explore. Good locality to live. There is no problem of other types. Active in politics it is always assisted but government to run union In the college.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel fees are very much less around 2k pm but quality is not that good. Facilities provided are also not good. Its better to stay in PG nearby which cost 4k pm.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are well placed in governments organization in west Bengal. Some have also settled abroad. Link is not though that much but good in west Bengal.

My Honest Review For Nit Durgapur

Placement Experience:

Yes our college offers campus placements.Students from 4th year are eligible for campus placements.Many reputed nation and international companies like microsoft,Wipro,TCS, Infosys and many more companies offrers placement every year in this college. arrording to 2025 deta overall placement rate was 82 percent, Highest packege was 80 lpa and average packege was 12.6lpa. My only plan to get a good placements.

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

In my college according to this year college placements went 82% . If you can't get campus placement , there is a high probability if you can apply for any job outside campus and you have relevant skills you can get it .
