Remarks

The most beautiful thing about the college is the weather and the environment. The college follows a streamlined path for its curriculum which is the best part of this collge. The thing that might be improved here is the labs and other facilities otherwise the college is good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college provides bachelor's degree in arts, commerce and science and master degrees in arts and science along with phD. There are continuous internal assessments and two internal exams each of 20 marks and 10 marks on viva voce. Then there will be an end semester examination of 60 marks(theory) and 30 marks (practical) where one need to score atleast 36%.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible because it is a government college and one need to pay only Rs 1320 per month. The facilities are also provided like the library, cafeteria, sports complex, auditorium and a computer lab. So all in all the fees is quiet affordable.

Campus Life

3

There are 31 labs , 1 playground ,1 library and they are quiet good. Some teachers will also encourage you to do and take some co-curricular activities which is required for personality and overall development.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is 1 hostel for boys and 4 hostel for girls. The infrastructure is okay but the mess food is not so good but looking at the fees that they take the value for money is good. There is also a play ground nearby so one can play there and a guest house too.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are really helpful and will guide you through the rigorous path whereas there may be some unruly scenes sometimes but it is your sole responsibility to avoid them and focus on yourself. Being a government college there is sometimes politics going on but simply stay away from it.

Admission

I got admission into this college through my 10+2 marks. The admission process takes place only through merit list. When the results are out,you need to apply online for UG and PG degrees and then they will put out merit lists on the basis of which one will be selected. After that you need to report to the college for verification of documents and that's the end of admission procedure.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very good and experienced but one need to possess the talent to make the most out of them. One need to maintain a good behaviour and discipline and also the decorum while one is in their respective classes because internal marks are in their hand..

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Placement Experience:

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

Placement Experience:

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.
