CAT 2012. Percentile 98. I chose this college because of brand IIM. Today it may be a new college but after 5-10 years it will be a big brand on the lines of Indore, Kozhikode.

The course curriculum and grading is like the other IIMs. I had opted for Marketing as Major. I got the opportunity to co-author an EMERALD publications case study under the guidance of Dr. Sanjeev Prashar. Similarly many students get good opportunities in other subjects as well. The 2nd year curriculum is more of practicals with more than 50% weightage on real life short projects. The FPM course is basically designed for research purposes.

The placement cell of IIM Raipur has tie-ups with India's well known corporates in all sectors - Hero, Maruti (Auto), SAIL, BPCL, HPCL - (PSUs), Oglivy Mather, HT, Zee - (Media & Adv). KPMG, E&Y, PWC, Deloite (Consulting), ICICI, HDFC (Bank). Wiprro, Accenture (IT)There are regional SME ompanies in Raipur who recruit interns to streamline their process. The stipend would be 40k per month to 5k month depending on the company, profile etc.

Each and every festival was celebrated in our college. Cultural & Sports Committee had budgets for all events like - Holi, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid, Natioanl Holidays - Independence day, Republic Day, Christmas. Every event was organised by students. External participating events like Equinox, TedX were also organised by students with the help of sponsors. Tedx was organised on the budget of 4L while Equinox was organised on the budget of 50L. Equiniox was managment fest where we had many events with participants from all MBA colleges. Some celebrity like Euphoria Group would be invited for a performance. We also had fashion show, DJ night in the same 5 day event.

Fees structure was very competitive when we compare MBA fess across all colleges. Something like 10L fortwo years for academics and 80K for mess for 2 years. Student loans were easily available by Central Bank. State Bank, IDBI at special rates of IIMS (10. 5 -10. 75 % pa).

Studnet loan was offered to all students by Central Bank, State Bank, IDBI, Union Bank at very cheap rates - special rates for IIMs. Category students from Chattisgarh had scholarship - (80%) total fees paid by Govt of Chattisgarh. OP Jindal scholarship was available in college - some comptitive exam & interview would determine selection. Two students (1. 5L) received it in my batch.

It was a make-shift campus because the proposed campus is still under construction. The hostels were on sharing basis - 2 students per room. The hostel rooms were in the same building where the classes were held. It was a blessing for us - we could reach

Alumni committe was intrumental in organising chapter meets around main cities of India. We are a young institution so seniors go extra mile to help the juniors - Build Brand IIM Raipur. I remember many seniors would hold Skype sessions and help us in preparation for certain companies or the company they were working in. We could contact our immediate seniors in their hostel rooms whenever required - No Senior Junior thing after 2 months of joining. The passout seniors were reachable on emails/phones - regularly updated by themselves and Alumni Committee.

Exams were tough because of the grading system in IIMs. The relative grading was the main reason behind it. Each subject had 20 lectures in which 4 (min) to 10 (max) classes were dedicated on presentations, labs, quizes. All these had internal marking. 40

The in-house faculty is well qualified with good teaching experience from other premier institutes like IIMs, MDI, IMT. Many experienced faculties from top colleges opt as visiting faculty as they do not want to settle in Raipur. Second Year elective cour
