Remarks

My college is like home. It'll give you homely atmosphere with the best studying facilities. You'll enjoy your student life here to the fullest. Teachers are helpful. The campus is ragging free. Moreover one must come to JU to live the life.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The graduation course is of 3 years and post graduation is of two years. B.Tech is of 4 years. Here the exam system is semester-wise. There is a perfect syllabus for other competitive exams and every year our students shine the All India based exams with flying colours.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is best here. In engineering faculty, the placement is almost about 90-95%. Other two faculties are not in backfoot. Science and Arts faculties also have placements. There are very good research opportunities here.

College Events

5

Each department organises freshers. The whole faculty also organises freshers for the new comers. Each department organises reunion each year. Each faculty organises an annual fest named Sanskriti. Three 'sanskriti's indicate three faculties and it's the biggest festival of Jadavpur University.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. The university is subsidised. The yearly admission cost is around 2000 and semester fee is around 50 to 70.

Fees and Financial Aid

University is subsidised. Course fee is very low itself. They offer alumni scholarships and free studentships also. The poor students who can show their proper documents to avail those scholarships.

Campus Life

5

Jadavpur p University is not only a book-worm's place. Here you can have a gym, two big grounds, football and crixket matches, basketball court, union room, music classes, language classes, NSS, photographic club and mountaineering club and all as per your choice.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is not that strong till now. But the present students and teachers are trying their best to make the alumni strong and corruption free. The alumni association gives a scholarship to many present students to afford their studies here.

Admission

In Science faculty the admission is via Merit list. So I got the admission via merit list based on my +2 marks. In engineering faculty, the admission is via JEE examination. In arts faculty the admission is donr by admission tests.

Faculty

5

Jadavpur University has the one of the best faculties in India. It's ranked on the top places. Teachers are highly qualified and responsible. Everyone gets library facility here. Classes and exams are so regular.

The placements are very good for BTech students. As I don't know much about Mtech but M.Sc placements are also good not too good but average. BTech has the best placements because many companies offer them job as this college is NIT level college.

If the student is quite serious to go for a PHD after completing his MSc from here, I would say it is a great choice but if one is looking for the option to explore some other field after completing his MSc from here, I wouldn't recommend of getting a degree from here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The program curriculum encompasses Biological Sciences as well as it could have been. It is very elaborate comprising every branches from Instrumemtation and Methodologies to Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology for that matter. You are ought to have three theory papers and two practical and Grand VIVA papers each semester with a total of 4 semesters over two years. In the last semester, you need to prepare your dissertation. The papers include all the basic concepts and their applications and demands hard hours. I believe the syllabus can be relaxed a bit and the number of papers per term expanded and compartmentalised so as to reduce the load of individual papers. All the faculties are very supportive and Friendly and appreciate doubts and queries always.
