Remarks
The college recently completed 25 years of operation and has grown leaps and bounds. The path ahead is also impressive. The college needs to work on the placements little more. The college pays too much attention on discipline which sometimes become annoying.Faculty and teaching methodology is a big plus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum focuses on the holistic development of a student. It has a course structure very similar to the MBA course.You get to learn the theoretical concepts about Finance, marketing and HR along with practical implementation through various projects. The exam structure consists of internal examinations for each of the six semesters followed by final examinations. The students need to score a minimum of 4 CGPA in each subject for passing the semester. The maximum CGPA granted is 10.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are good for some courses like Bcom(s) and BMS.Rest courses have to look for other options. Yes the college provides internship to first and second year students of every course through various conclaves and inviting seminars.And there were around 20 companies visited and many students got offers for joining.
College Events
The flagship event of the college is Kalrav is which is conducted in the month February.It includes various cultural performances and various competitions being conducted by the the organising committee in which colleges from all over the university participate. It is followed by a star night. Various clubs like finance, marketing, entrepreneurship conducts events throughout the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the college is very feasible being a government funded college.It ranges from 5000 to 15000 per annum. Given the infrastructure and facilities provided, it hardly burns a hole in your pocket. There are various scholarships available for EWS students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a government funded college. The fee structure is such that everyone can afford it without applying for loan and scholarship. Still there is a scholarship for the ones whose family income is on the lower side and belong to EWS category. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya scholar is also available and students can apply for it. The candidates profile would be reviewed before finalizing the scholarship.
Campus Life
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya has a fully centralised AC library which can accommodate more than 300 students at a time. It offers a peaceful environment for studying and a variety of books for various examinations. Sports facilities include Archery, football ground and indoor games.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel of the college is a newly build one and is well furnished with all world class amenities including hi speed WiFi and washing machines. The charges for the hostel are slightly on the higher side.There are various PG available nearby. The food served is delicious and hygienic.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful and are always there to assist right from the orientation programme. There are alumni networks of the placement cell for assisting in the placement procedures.The alumni of the college is spread all over the corporate and govt world. Seniors also help in getting notes and arranging an internship.
Admission
I had completed my Bachelor in Management studies degree from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. First you have to register yourself for the JAT entrance exam for admission into Delhi University BMS course. JAT consists of 100-120 questions comprising business awareness, logical aptitude, quantitative aptitude and English. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for the interviews and GD. Finally the students are selected based on their cumulative scores.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is well versed with domain and the subjects that they teach.All of them are PHD holders.Each faculty of college organises various events and encourage students to participate The professors are very helpful and well informed. The teaching methodology is world class with practical solutions and career guidance.
