All three options are excellent, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. However, your choice should depend on what you truly want.

IIT Delhi EE (Power and Automation)

  • 2nd best Entrepreneurship Culture in the country.
  • One of the tougher branches with strong placement options.
  • Offers the best non-core placement opportunities among the three.

IIT Kharagpur B.Tech + M.Tech Mechanical Engineering

  • A solid choice with a well-rounded curriculum.
  • Mechanical Engineering has a broad scope and diverse career opportunities.

IIT Roorkee ECE

  • An established IIT with a well-respected branch.
  • Offers a conventional but reliable path in engineering.

Consider your interests and career goals carefully!

IIT Delhi's Electrical Engineering (core) and Power and Automation are quite similar, with only a difference of 3–4 courses. Students in Power and Automation can choose from department elective courses, allowing them to take core Electrical Engineering courses. This means that Power and Automation students can effectively become equivalent to those in the core Electrical Engineering program.

In conclusion, there is no significant difference between IIT Delhi's Electrical core and Power and Automation. Additionally, IIT Delhi's Electrical Engineering is ranked higher than IIT Kharagpur's Electrical and IIT Bombay's Mechanical Engineering.
