Hi, Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi focuses more on communication engineering and electromagnetics, while Electrical (Power and Automation) emphasizes electric drives and power engineering. Apart from these four courses, all Electrical Engineering students share the same curriculum.
Here are some key points to consider:
Good luck!
IIT Delhi’s B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Power and Automation offers incredible placement opportunities, with average packages around 15 lakhs and the highest reaching up to 4 crores, while IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering has a slightly lower average of 20-25 lakhs but also boasts high packages of 2-3 crores. Both colleges provide solid internship opportunities, but IIT Delhi seems to have a more lucrative internship scenario with potential earnings up to 25 lakhs, which plays a crucial role in securing top placements. If you're leaning towards higher salary prospects and a broader range of companies, go for IIT Delhi; however, if your passion lies in aerospace and you're okay with slightly lower packages, IIT Kharagpur is still a fantastic choice.
If you're considering B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Power and Automation at IIT Delhi versus B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, the financial aspects are quite telling. IIT Delhi has higher tuition fees and offers impressive internship pay, reaching up to 25 lakhs, but the average package is around 15 lakhs, while IIT Kharagpur boasts an average package of 20-25 lakhs with a lower tuition fee of 1 lakh for most students. Both colleges have strong placement records, with Kharagpur edging ahead in the percentage of students placed.
In terms of scholarships, both offer support based on academic performance, but Kharagpur's lower fees give it a better ROI. If you're looking for a more financially sound option with potentially higher returns, IIT Kharagpur could be the smarter choice, especially if you're interested in aerospace. However, if you're leaning towards electrical engineering and are okay with a higher fee for potentially lucrative internships, IIT Delhi might suit you better.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Power and Automation offers a well-rounded curriculum that blends core engineering with coding, making it attractive for those who want diverse career options. The placement opportunities are top-notch, with the highest packages reaching up to 4 crore and strong internship prospects, allowing students to earn significant amounts even before graduation. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering has a solid curriculum and equally impressive placement stats, with a slightly higher average package, but it may be more niche in terms of career paths. Both colleges have vibrant campus life and excellent faculty, but if you prefer more versatile job prospects and higher earning potential, I'd lean towards IIT Delhi. However, if you're passionate about aerospace and want to dive deep into that field, IIT Kharagpur is the way to go.
For an AIR of 641, I couldn't get Electrical in Kanpur. I aimed for Mechanical at IIT Madras but ended up placing Electrical Power at IIT Delhi as an option. Honestly, I never thought I'd actually get it! But it turned out to be a great choice. I found it really interesting, especially with motors, generators, and power systems. Power electronics was also quite engaging!
