There is a difference, but it's negligible. This isn't because Power and Automation students aren't capable. The gap exists mainly because many companies are either unaware of the two EE branches or perceive one as more specialized. As a result, some companies don’t even recruit for Power and Automation, even though they are open to Engineering Physics. The situation has improved significantly in recent years, but a gap still remains.

There are only 3–4 core courses that differ between EE1 and EE3 (P&A), and they are essentially the same branch. The different courses include:
