In contrast, IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech in Chemical Engineering provides a solid grounding with an average package of 20-25 lakhs and also a high placement rate of around 80%. When it comes to campus life, both colleges are vibrant, but IIT Delhi has a reputation for its engaging fests and events. Personally, I’d lean towards IIT Delhi for its diverse curriculum and exposure to tech-driven industries, unless you have a strong interest in chemical engineering, in which case IIT Kharagpur would be a great fit.

If you're getting into Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi, placements shouldn't even be a concern. Seriously, even students from textile engineering land great jobs. It's IIT DELHI! Power and Automation is definitely a solid branch. You'll have plenty of chances to explore minors and electives. After four years, if you want to enter core electrical or software companies (most B.Tech graduates lean towards analyst, consulting, finance, etc.), you'll have ample opportunities. Trust me, you won't regret this choice!

There is a difference, but it's negligible. This isn't because Power and Automation students aren't good enough. The gap exists mainly because many companies either aren't aware of the two EE branches or perceive one as more specialized. As a result, some companies don't even recruit for Power and Automation, even though they're open to Engineering Physics. The situation has improved significantly in recent years, but a gap still exists.

There are only 3–4 core courses that differ between EE1 and EE3 (P&A), and they are essentially the same branch. The different courses are:
