On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering seems to provide better placement opportunities with companies like Google and Microsoft, and it offers scholarships for deserving students, making it a smarter financial choice. If you aim for high-paying tech jobs and want a better ROI, IIT Kharagpur is the way to go; however, if you’re more interested in production engineering and can handle the fees, IIT Delhi is still a fantastic option.

While both colleges have strong faculty and facilities, IIT Kharagpur seems to provide a more competitive environment for internships and projects in trending fields like AI and web development. If you're aiming for a tech-centric career with robust job prospects, IIT Kharagpur might be the better pick, but if you're inclined toward industrial engineering with a strong placement record, IIT Delhi remains an excellent choice.

IIT Delhi is likely a better choice than IIT KGP for Computer Science! This isn't just because it's my institute; it's due to several key factors:

• The facilities here are top-notch.
• There are excellent tie-ups to support startups and projects.
• Many companies that don’t visit KGP for placements come to IIT Delhi!

These advantages can significantly impact your education and career prospects!

Here are the reasons:

• Higher calibre of your future classmates.
• Superior placement opportunities. Trust me, many multinational corporations like Samsung Korea and Rubrik U.S. don’t visit IIT Kharagpur, but they regularly come to IIT Delhi for internships and placements.
• More chances for pursuing further studies at top-tier international universities.

Additionally, IIT Delhi is situated in the heart of Delhi (specifically South Delhi) and is conveniently close to the Delhi airport. There are plenty of restaurants, malls, theatres, and bars to enjoy during your weekends.

In contrast, the nearest city to IIT Kharagpur is Kolkata, which is about 140 km away. The closest decent restaurant to IIT Kharagpur is a Domino’s outlet, and it doesn’t even deliver pizzas inside the campus!

While I usually don’t put much stock in QS Rankings, you can rely on them when they rank IIT Delhi higher than IIT Kharagpur.
