More than focusing on which option is better, you need to consider what resonates with you. IITs have an international level of accreditation.

  • B.Tech Electrical students can pursue M.Tech in Computer Engineering, while the reverse is not typically possible in most universities.
  • All Non-Computer Engineering students study some level of computer concepts.
  • Strictly speaking, Electrical Engineering includes some computer learning, but not the other way around.

Choose based on your future plans, if you have any. Good luck and cheers!

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering offers a strong faculty and a rigorous curriculum that pushes you to think critically, but the campus life can be a bit cramped in terms of hostel facilities. IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering, while having a larger student-faculty ratio and decent placement opportunities with big tech firms, seems to have a teaching style that may not be as engaging. Both colleges have vibrant campus activities, but IIT Delhi might edge out in terms of overall academic rigor and the quality of education. Personally, I’d recommend IIT Delhi for those who prioritize academic excellence and a challenge, while IIT Kharagpur could be a better fit for students looking for a more relaxed environment with good job prospects.

IIT Delhi for Electrical Engineering has a strong reputation, but its fees are quite high, nearing those of private colleges, which can be a burden for middle-class families. Meanwhile, IIT Kharagpur's Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering program offers a better student-faculty ratio and has a diverse range of companies recruiting, including big names like Google and Samsung. While IIT Delhi has decent placement rates, Kharagpur's overall value for money with its potential return on investment makes it a smarter financial choice. If you're looking for a prestigious name and can handle the costs, go for IIT Delhi; if you want a solid education without breaking the bank, IIT Kharagpur is the way to go.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering both have solid reputations, but their placement prospects differ. IIT Delhi boasts an impressive 88% placement rate, with top companies like Google and Samsung actively recruiting, which speaks to its strong industry connections. In contrast, while IIT Kharagpur also has good internship opportunities, the student-faculty ratio and teaching quality seem less favorable, potentially impacting career outcomes. If you prioritize high placement rates and a vibrant tech scene, IIT Delhi is the better choice, while IIT Kharagpur could still be a good fit if you prefer its location or specific courses.
