IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering offers a strong curriculum and impressive placement stats, with around 88% of students securing jobs, making it a solid choice for those seeking a tech-focused career. However, the fees are quite high, which can be a concern for middle-class families. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Agricultural and Food Engineering combined with M.Tech in Farm Machinery and Power might have lower placement rates but often leads to niche jobs in a growing sector, plus the fees might be more manageable. For someone who values a high ROI and is keen on tech, IIT Delhi is likely the smarter choice, while IIT Kharagpur could be better for students interested in agriculture and related fields who prefer a lower financial burden.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering offers a strong curriculum and impressive placement rates, with around 88% of students securing jobs through campus placements, which is quite a boon for aspiring engineers. The faculty is highly qualified and encourages independent problem-solving, enhancing the learning experience. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech in Agricultural and Food Engineering combined with an M.Tech in Farm Machinery and Power might not attract as many tech giants, but it provides a niche specialization, which can be appealing for those interested in agriculture tech.

However, the overall campus life at IIT Delhi is vibrant, with better sports and cultural opportunities. Personally, I’d lean towards IIT Delhi for its robust placement record and dynamic student life, making it ideal for anyone focused on a tech-driven career. If you’re passionate about agriculture and want a specialized path, then IIT Kharagpur could be your choice.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering clearly has an edge in placements compared to IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Agricultural and Food Engineering + M.Tech in Farm Machinery and Power. With about 88% of IIT Delhi students securing placements and opportunities from top tech giants like Google and Samsung, the prospects are vastly better for those in electrical engineering. In contrast, while IIT Kharagpur offers a unique niche in agricultural engineering, it may not attract the same level of high-paying tech companies. If you're leaning towards a more conventional engineering path with strong job prospects, IIT Delhi is the way to go; however, if you’re passionate about agriculture and its technologies, IIT Kharagpur can still be a fulfilling choice.

In 2015, a total of 63 students from the Agricultural and Food Engineering (UG) program registered under the CDC for placements. Out of these, only 33 students (or 52%) secured placements in the first phase, which concluded on December 18, 2015.

For M.Tech courses, the placement percentage is alarmingly low, with only 8 students (or 13%) placed out of 63 registered students.
