IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering generally has a strong placement record, with about 88% of students securing jobs through campus placements, attracting top tech companies like Google and Samsung. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech + M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering offers a more integrated approach, which can be advantageous for students looking to deepen their expertise, but the reported student-faculty ratio suggests a less personalized learning environment.

While both colleges have their strengths, IIT Delhi edges ahead in immediate job prospects and networking opportunities due to its reputation and industry connections. If you're more inclined towards tech roles and fast-paced placements, IIT Delhi is the better choice, whereas IIT Kharagpur might suit those looking for a comprehensive engineering education leading to specialized roles in mechanical engineering.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering offers a higher placement percentage at around 88%, but the fees are quite steep, which can be a burden for middle-class families. On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech + M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering likely has a better ROI given the comprehensive nature of the dual degree, though specific placement stats aren't provided. Both colleges have a strong reputation, but if you're looking for value for money, IIT Kharagpur might be the smarter choice due to a potentially better balance of costs and long-term career benefits.

If you have a clear passion for electrical engineering and don't mind the fees, IIT Delhi could be worth it, but for a broader skill set and possibly a more manageable financial commitment, go with IIT Kharagpur.

The answer to this question really hinges on your interests, location preferences, and career goals.

  • Placement-wise: IIT KGP EE is a stronger choice, hands down. There are numerous core jobs as well as opportunities in CS. Plus, there’s significant scope in consulting and finance. The growth potential is tremendous if you choose this path.
  • Hard Work Required: Remember, there's a saying — there's no such thing as a free lunch. You need to put in the effort to seize these opportunities. If you’re not willing to study hard after getting into IIT, these prospects won’t mean much.
  • Passion for Chemical Engineering: If you’re genuinely passionate about chemical engineering, IIT Delhi makes more sense. The placements for chemical students are definitely good—actually, really great! But again, hard work is non-negotiable here too.
  • Alternative Career Paths: If you’re considering entrepreneurship, UPSC CSE, CAT, etc., then IIT Delhi is the way to go.

I hope this helps clarify things! All the best! :)
