Both IIT Delhi for Electrical Engineering and IIT Kharagpur for Mechanical Engineering offer unique experiences, but they have distinct differences. IIT Delhi has a more prestigious reputation and a focused curriculum that challenges you to think critically, while IIT Kharagpur has a more laid-back approach with a broader student-faculty ratio. The campus life at IIT Delhi is vibrant with numerous cultural and technical events and decent sports facilities, whereas IIT Kharagpur also boasts a lively campus but may not have the same level of faculty engagement. If you're passionate about electrical engineering and enjoy a rigorous academic environment, IIT Delhi is the better choice, but if you prefer mechanical engineering with a more relaxed atmosphere, IIT Kharagpur could be the way to go. Personally, I'd pick IIT Delhi for its excellent curriculum and strong placement opportunities in tech, but it really depends on your interests and career goals.

EE power is quite similar to core EE at IIT Delhi. The difference is just three courses in the curriculum. Plus, you’ll need to focus your B.Tech project on something related to power. Hope this helps!

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering tends to have better placement prospects than IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, especially with tech giants like Google and Jane Street actively recruiting from IITD. The higher student-to-faculty ratio and more rigorous grading at IIT Delhi can also push students to excel, while IIT Kharagpur has a slightly more relaxed academic environment. Both colleges offer solid internship opportunities, but IIT Delhi's location in the capital provides an edge in networking and exposure to industry leaders. If you're inclined towards electrical engineering and want to tap into the tech sector, IIT Delhi is a great choice; however, if you're passionate about mechanical engineering and prefer a balanced approach to studies and campus life, IIT Kharagpur might suit you better.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering has a higher fee structure compared to IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, which can be a significant consideration for middle-class families. While IIT Delhi boasts a strong reputation and impressive placements—with around 88% of students getting jobs—its cost might not justify the ROI for everyone, especially considering the intense competition and the need for solid grades to stand out. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur, with a more reasonable fee structure and strong placement records in both core and tech companies, offers better value for money.

If financial constraints are a concern, IIT Kharagpur would be a smarter choice, but if you’re passionate about electrical engineering and can handle the costs, IIT Delhi could still be worth it for the prestige and networking opportunities.
