IIT Delhi for B.Tech Electrical Engineering has an impressive faculty and a strong focus on problem-solving, which really prepares you for the industry, while IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech Industrial Engineering might not have the same level of faculty engagement but offers a broader curriculum with various tech company placements. Campus life at IIT Delhi is vibrant with numerous clubs and activities, but if you value a more diverse engineering approach and are open to exploring industrial engineering, IIT Kharagpur could be your pick. Personally, I’d lean towards IIT Delhi for its electrical program and the overall student experience, but if you're keen on industrial engineering and a slightly easier workload, IIT Kharagpur could suit you better.

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering offers a prestigious program with a strong faculty and decent placement rates, but the fees are quite high, making it a tougher financial choice for many. On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Industrial Engineering has more accessible fees and great internship opportunities with top companies, which could enhance your return on investment. While IIT Delhi may have a slight edge in reputation, the financial burden and high cost of living might not justify it compared to the value for money at IIT Kharagpur. If you’re looking for a smarter financial choice, I’d recommend IIT Kharagpur for its balance of quality education and lower fees, especially if you’re conscious about ROI.

EE power is quite similar to core EE at IIT Delhi. The difference is just 3 courses in the curriculum. Plus, you'll need to focus your B.Tech project on something related to power. Hope that helps!

Instrumentation Engineering is considered a solid branch, and the curriculum is indeed very engaging. Many students find that it aligns better with their needs than even Electrical Engineering.

There’s a slight disadvantage in non-core placements compared to IIT Delhi. For instance, Bain and AT Kearney don’t hire from IIT Kharagpur, but the remaining opportunities in consulting and other non-core areas are quite promising. Last year, Deutsche Bank didn’t have any interns from IIT Delhi, while it had five from IIT KGP. Statistics and figures tend to fluctuate.

Consulting companies typically don’t recruit during the placement season at IIT Kharagpur and aren’t bound by the institute's administrative processes. They usually hire in August and September, and their selection processes resemble those at other institutes. However, they do allow students with PPOs from their internships to participate in their selections, which is not as common elsewhere. It’s a slight advantage, but still a pro!
